No question that Ford has talked about reducing dealer count in areas such as mid west & East where there are dealers on every corner. Dealers have been encouraged to buy out other dealers through consolidation.Dealers with staying power will continue and the weak capitilized dealers will sell out or close up. In order to downsize Ford Motor Co and get back to their core business some dealers will close but others will become stronger and Ford needs that to happen. Over dealering in some Metro areas will be drasticly affected.Thats my $2.00 worth FREE OF CHARGE. Tomy Hamon .
Ford needs to get back to their Basics.

When you say that dealers are being "encouraged" to buy out other dealers what kind of "encouragment" are they offering? Anything you can share?

Yes that was a good turn around for another Iconic American company. Plenty of cases of successful turn arounds here at home, IBM, Apple to name a few.

I have also been a long time loyal Ford owner (currently my whole family owns 10 Fords) But ever since I have been having problems with my 6.0L truck that I use for my business and Ford will not do anything for me other then try and "fix" it, which I just got back today and it still isn't fixed. I might have to look at another brand in the future.

I understand that Ford has been have a very rough time for sometime now, but when you have loyal owner like myself and other and you do not take care of them when they have a problem, they are just kicking themselves in there butts.

Its just bad when I take a Ford car to someone and they say "hey, thats a nice looking truck, how do you like it?" and I respond with its a nice truck other then the engine is a POS and Ford doesn't stand behind it!

I hope that the new 6.4L diesel is the turnaround for them and they haven't screwed that one up aswell. If they do screw it up, I think we will be looking at the next few years being a net loss too.
