Anyways I will have the bigest stroke crank in a GT yet as they just finished my 4.350 stroke crank and we will see how it works. 374'' of mod motor fun:)

Great info. How much does the Bryant crank run?

For those who have installed this crank... how far up the RPM range are you comfortable spinning the engine now, with a truly balanced crank.

The "mean piston speed" is the limiting factor.

We have one of these cranks and a set of the same rods that were used in Ray's gal; having shared this John aka AccuFab and I have discussed the max RPM and it is in the plus 8500 RPM range.

yes new price is 4700.00 I have two i'll sell @ old price which was 4400.00

Btw for those interested you don't need to spin the motor over 8000 with the gearing in the car, but could easily go 8000-8500. I know a guy that turns one of these cranks but the 4.350 version 8800!!!!!:biggrin

Fubar if your going to turn the motor over 7000 for extended periods, its not a bad idea to slow the oil pump down.

Yep, I’ve had that conversation, I was thinking 8k-8.5k. I could do a 60-170 roll with one shift… wicked! Keep in mind my fuel pump is running on that same pulley system but the last thing I would want is cavitation in the oil system at the ¾ mile marker. I would need to look at oil pump rpm’s and fuel pressure at idle but I think the trade off is minimal. Have you used the Tilton carbon clutches before, 15lbs and supposedly just as strong? That’s at least 10lbs off the rotating mass… it’s got to count for more than just a little. I was worried about drivability but I’ve heard the Spec can be a little scary at first too.

Spec can be "scary"? There is a little chatter in first gear while it breaks in. Aside from that there is nothing out of the ordinary about the clutch.

Fubar I think you are over thinking all this. Drop the $$$$ on a TT and all you have to do after that is put gas in it and drag your buddies around on the freeway.

By scarry, I meant it is such a departure from the user friendly stock clutch, very on/off. I enjoy this part of build process. I like to ask a lot of questions, learn something new and pick just exactly what I want. I'm aiming for your hp numbers with a SC'd configuration and looking forward to seeing my friends on the street.

Didn't mean to ask all of my questions in your thread tho. Sorry.

The Spec clutch does not seem like a very on/off type of thing.

I bet you would be not able to tell the difference between my Spec and a stock clutch.
