Muffler Failure

I had my car at Ray Skillman for service up dates and installation of new transmission coolers. They had completed the work and were checking out other items before re-installing the bottom shields. They noticed discoloration on one of the mufflers and found that it had cracked and was leaking exhaust. This failure will cause excessive heat and exhaust gases to be released into the back portion of the car. There are a lot of problems this could cause.

Because they went the extra mile is the only reason this was found. It may be something you would want your servicing dealer to inspect. See attached photos of failure. PS: Forgive my crude drawing skills. My new muffler is on the way to their shop.

I believe the Akrapovic is the titanium version.

Not sure if this portion of the exhaust is included in the titanium option. I did not get the titanium exhaust.

I guess the leak was small enough that you could not tell a change in the sound of the exhaust. Good dealer!

Anyone know if there is a performance gain with this pipe? I can’t tell from the video if there is any difference in the quality of the exhaust note.

Im sure there will be an updated one. Ford Quality Control will be on it. Are the mufflers the same on Titanium versus standard?
