I've read all of the theads I could find on this subject.
Although it can be tricky, I had no problem (after a few tries) separating the two-piece cap. I read about the danger of cross-threading when installing the 3-eared center and using some lube, such as Vaseline, on the threads.
Still, on my new 3-eared caps, I can't seem to get them screwed into the wheel more than 1/3 of a turn until they begin to bind up. I'm reluctant to force it due to how easily a plastic thread can be crossthreaded and ruined.
Does anyone have any suggestions or tricks on how to mount these centers and/or am I doing anything incorrectly?
Thanks, usmcfred
