Modded GT vs ENZO

First off I used the search and did not yield a result.

We all modify our cars for different reasons. Some of us want to be the fastest on the block, the race track and everywhere else the car may go. Others mod their cars to achieve a result that is measured against a benchmark. For me, the ENZO is not only an icon that I yearn to own one day, but to for now is the benchmark. So with that, who can offer some metrics of a modded GT vs. an ENZO.

The modded Gt has a Whipple running 19 Lbs of boost on 91 Octane, Accufabe Throttle Body, Mafia, X-Pipe etc. The ENZO is stock (or w/ Tubis if the data is available). BTW, I know the ENZO has incredible brakes so for the sake of this comparo please omit.

The Enzo is a dream car. It's a wild ridiculous animal. But it would get beat and beat badly by a Whipple GT in any speed contest (omitting driver skill). Of course, regardless of how much power you bring to the table, the Enzo will always be a track killer comparatively.

It really is 2 different leagues, both are great, the enzo says its only money baby and commands respect just for being the enzo, sat in one , drove one its a space shuttle. The GT is our american dream car, SOMETHING WE CAN PARTIALLY RELATE TO whether we own it or wish to own it. Both are great, only one though holds something the other cant, GOD BLESS AMERICA :thumbsup GTJOEY 1314

The Enzo may not be that untouchable on the track. I bet a Whipple or TT car with some Penske's . lowered and Hoosiers could hang with an Enzo on the track.
The reason I say this is because I recently read that the new Scuderia 430 is running the same lap times as an Enzo ( being driven by Ferrari test drivers ). That said ,the extra power in a GT may make up for the lack of down force generated by the Enzo and I'm sure it would vary from track to track?? If I recall the power to weight ratio of the Scud. 430 is good but not phenomenal .. 2976lb , 510 hp . they list 0-60 at 3.6 sec
But don't get me wrong I love the Enzo !!

I know what you're saying. Part of the reason the Scud is so fast is the tires it has. Enzo (and FGT) have hockey pucks. However, in a lap after lap after lap track day, the Enzo won't wear out. After enough hard lapping on a hot and humid day, the GT and its supercharger peace out :lol I know.

Yeah yeah yeah poor you. I couldn't get my car out of my garage if I tried right now. 8 inches of snow will do that.

So it's off to Vegas for Rally planning and Scottsdale for Barrett I go :thumbsup

The Scud probably weighs 3200+ pounds wet as Ferrari's weight figures usually are dry weights with no fluids in the car. So I'd venture to bet even with the stock Goodyears, a GT equipped with AP racing brakes, Motons shocks and a good alignment (in other words my car) can take on an Enzo at any track. But since we need to take out the human factor, anyone with an Enzo wants to find out please call me and I'm more than willing to drive your car and mine back to back on a track to find out. But you can't drive mine. :lol

Bruce is a local friend who seems to be on top of the Ferrari capabilities - or lack of. Besides, he recently took delivery of his Ferrari and I'm sure he's got some great insight and I am still waiting for my ride:wink. That is all I meant by my comment. :cheers

The GT is definitely faster than my Challenge Stradale, the predecessor to the Scudaria, both in a straight line and in the turns too. At California Speedway last month, on the same turn, using my MaxQ Data Acquisition system, I recorded only .98g in the Stradale on Saturday, and when I returned on Sunday with the GT, I recorded 1.13g. To be fair to the Stradale, I've had the GT for 1 1/2 years already while it was my first time exercising the Stradale. BTW, the Stradale has 80 treadwear 315 sized Pilot Sport Cups while the GT is still on 220 treadwear Goodyears. I could have pushed the Stradale harder but I just felt more comfortable on the limit with the GT. Once I get more seat time with the Stradale, I will give another comparison.
Thanks to Kip and Stormcat, the GT now has as much carbon fiber in the cabin as the Stradale/Scud though. But keep them coming, I still need the upper dash and surround.
Sam,
If it is dry on Saturday, I'll come to C&C in the GT and we can meet up to go for a ride.

Last year I had the chance to drive an Enzo and my then stock GT at the West track at Firebird in Phoenix. We rant the track 'backwards' as it was originally designed to run which is a faster track but still a tight course. I found the Enzo to be very difficult to anticipate with the electronic nannies on, but when they were turned off it was a very impressive car that was very quick. No question in my mind it was faster in the straight and turns though the desert heat impacted my gt more.

After the whipple install, there is also no doubt in my mind it will take the Enzo in acceleration, on stock tires the Enzo would win the tight turns and the Enzo brakes are so awsome the shorter braking distance would help the Enzo make up at the end of the straights. Just my opinion, I look forward to a direct comparison agan later this year.

Derry, I agree. It's a nice fantasy, but the Enzo is a quicker car on today's average track. There is just no way to make the Ford GT change directions fast enough. The Ford GT's basic layout was designed to run at LeMans with longer straights than most tracks. Only in that type of setting do we have a chance with higher HP.

The fact that we are even comparing a GT with 10 thousand dollars of mods with a 650K car amazes me and makes my purchase of my GT almost seem sane.:banana

Gulf,
I have to disagree with you regarding the GT might not be that competitive in the twisties as I have autocrossed the GT numerous times and find it very responsive in the tightest of the tight courses so it shouldn't have any problem on any track - even the tigher ones like the Streets of Willow.

If you can find an Enzo for anywhere near $650K, buy it!
