So, $500,000 or so for Robin egg blue paint and zero performance difference or racing pedigree.

I do not get it.
When I bought my first GT, the difference was about $40k for a Heritage. And I thought the same thing--20% more for blue paint? As an "investment", that would have been the way to go, obviously.

But I wanted the traditional American racing colors of white w/blue stripe, and I've been happy with it!

Call it stupid, speculate drunk bidding, what ever you want. Regardless, it's the 1st 05-06, that I know of, to crest 7 figures. I used to discount crazy auction results, but you can not. They are documented comps. Onward and upwards....

Two data points almost simultaneously. Let's see what others bring before we call it a comp. And will that extend to other colors?

Ehh, I'm still driving mine. At 90K, it ain't ever gonna be a museum piece. Like my 1973 911, which has almost no rust damage, it doesn't have the original engine and tranny. But it's an excellent driver.

Like any other good statistical analysis, the high and low get thrown out anyway, so one sale does not a trend make Hmmm....think Yoda said that in a Star Wars movie

I think Yoda said, "May the Ford be with you."

You got that right, ridiculous!

I'm keeping mine as long as the lord allows, driving and driving and then driving some more.

Good thing the 2nd generation GT (05/06) is bullet proof. IMHO with proper and careful maintenance it is a 200K mile plus car.

Before any really major work.

Yesterday I went to the local pub - Twin Peaks - with my friend. I had started watching the Barrett Jackson auction on TV and asked them to change one of the many TVs to it.

Today we went down and lo and behold the auction is on 3 of the sets! They said I started it yesterday :)

So far some good prices on both sides of buyer seller.
