Mclaren Spider arrived

Mama mia! Or rather Blimey! Congrats on a fine acquisition; you, Sir, are obviously a man of taste. Shelby has a FINE Coupe on his site that seems to be calling my name. My "replacement" 458 is inbound, but I am strangely blase about its arrival...I've been more interested in driving my supercharged Zanardi NSX while my GT sleeps up north.

Hope you enjoy it in the best of health and vigor. Please consider writing a full comparo when you have the time, I'd love to hear your real world observations. You are an articulate writer and it would be very helpful.

Regarding FChat, I am becoming increasingly disenchanted with that place, including its self appointed, non-anointed Mayor. Sometimes makes me embarrassed to own a F car. The shame of it is that if one is not careful, that site and its Prima Donna participants can begin to define the experience of owning a Ferrari. Thankfully, the posters there represent a DISTINCT minority of F car owners. I refuse to drink the FChat Kool-aid.

I have always enjoyed your posts. Your comment about the 458 reminds me of the old saying, "perfection is boring". The "better" these cars get, the less enjoyment we seem to get out of them, and we always revert back to the old favorites. I think that is why the GT is so popular. It was an "old favorite" the moment it was made.

Congrats!! Became a huge fan of spider after an extensive test drive. Much better exhaust note than coupe alone makes me want to trade in for a spider. Need to come up with a big valentine gift for wifey so I can...
