That first one with the glowing front wheels is awesome!

I'm more intriqued by the 2nd pic. Did anyone see what I think I see? Obviously, it was raining; is that a clean pix of the "jet stream" roaster-tail from the mist from out between the big rear wing and the GT's tail deck, or is it somekind of advertizement painted on the rail and is captured by the pix from just a coincident angle?

If it is the jet stream, it clearly shows the movement of air/mist existing the rear of the racing GT!! Who needs wind tunnels, just do test drives in the rain :rofl!!!

I have some more with the MarcVDS Racing Ford GT1 car, and also some photos from Silverstone which I'll upload when I have a minute.

Hope you like them.
Steve

More photos, more fun. Thanks for sharing. I like the one of the GT leading the crowd down, back lit by all of the following cars headlights.

Awesome!!!!!!

These are great, any way we could get some in a larger size for a computer background?

send me an email with the picture you want, the resolution needed, and a proper email address to send it back to you :-)

Nice to see it back in competition after 40 + years of legends, equally attractive are the action photos. Most famous silloutte in racing history.

Steve, you are one lucky guy to get to see all the action live and in person. Can't wait to see your world famous, historical pic of the GT1 win at Le Mans in a few years. Great shots.

That picture intrigued me as well. There does not appear to be water around the tires. They may have been using a windshield cleaner spray but it would be much cooler if it turned out to be moisture trails created by wind vortices. Given the GT's natural coolness factor... I am going with the later explanation.

Well - it certainly was rainng in the last 1 pictures of the set. The picture in question may have been taken at the outset of the rainstorm when the track was still dry, yet is streaming off the car's body. Just a thought....

……: the suggested “jet stream”, “mist” or “moisture” on the pic #2 is actually just cooling liquid leaking from the front radiator. The leak resulted from the car hitting the lost front engine bonnet of the Audi #26, which lied around on the straight finish line for more than 3 laps without any reaction from the race control. It is only after several cars dropped out (including Matech’s both Ford GT’s) that the race control finally decided to call the safety-car out.
