I ran the GT3 car last weekend at the Rose Cup races at Portland International Raceway.
Car was super quick once we made a few changes but not without some drama.
Did the test day on Thursday and made some shock and wing changes plus I needed some seat time to start to push harder.
In the first qualifying session I was quickest just ahead of my teammate in his Bentley GT3 .
In the second qualifying the Bentley wrongly thought I was letting him by on the entrance to the festival chicane and hit me in the right rear and spun me .
The car had some minor damage but he cut my tire down so I had to limp back to the pits.
The first race is a Sprint on Saturday afternoon and I started from pole ahead of the Bentley, we had to put 2 older heat cycled rear tires on and once we got the green flag I knew I was in trouble.
The car had no rear grip and on the 3rd lap I spun while leading.
Once I got going I was in last place and fighting a very unbalanced car,I did manage to get back to 5th by the end of the 15 minute race.
Sunday morning I got a new set of tires from the Pirelli trailer and I would start 2nd based on lap times from the race on Saturday.
We got the green flag and as we braked for the chicane I was hit from behind and had to shortcut the chicane and wait for the whole field to drive by.
Once I got going I realized the car was really hooked up and starting setting fast lap of the race every lap.
I had moved up to 7th in about 5 laps only to be crowded onto the grass by a backmarker and went to the back again.
I was so pissed off I started to really push and moved up to 2nd overall..
Set fastest race lap and ended up 20 seconds behind the GT3 Bentley.
Here is a video from the Thursday test day , the laps in the this session are about 1 to 1.5 seconds slower than my race fast laps.

This FGT is just awesome. Too bad you got body damage to such a beauty. I know it is part of racing but having a beautifully restored historic racecar like that and have it damaged is just so annoying - and the reason I stopped racing and now just do track days .... I just hate when my cars get damaged by drivers who run out of talent

Looks like a shark coming up behind its dinner. I wonder how much HP that Bentley has to move that elephant around the track.

Well Done Tim - what an odd series of "events" on track. Did the marshals do anything? Hope So.
Thanks and no , the second incident was really not the other drivers fault , I should have waited but I thought he would give me more room.
The first one was a typical stack up in the festival turn , I am just disappointed because I hade the pace to win .
I was turning 1:14.0 laps in traffic and several times my predictive lap was showing low 1:13’s on the back straight when I would catch some lapped traffic
The car will be good as new in a couple days , we fixed the diffuser damage today and I will get the tail light panel painted next week.
I talked to Sascha at Matech and ordered a bumper , mine is fixable but I will use it as a spare.
