Matech at San Luis - Racing...

[Matech GT1]

We finished 2nd and 16th in this morning's qualifying race....main championship race is this afternoon, local time 3pm, 7pm Central European Time, 6pm UK time.

This story appeared on the British racing web site, Autosport, that the Argentina race was the last for the Matech team of Ford GT's. We never like seeing a competitor leave the sport, especially one that races a car as iconic as this one. We were looking forward to racing with them in the GT class at the ILMC races in North American (Sebring and Petit LeMans) as well as at the 24 hours of LeMans next year. Hopefully, they will be back.

I enjoyed meeting the team members at the Forum Rally and I especially liked seeing the Matech car run at VIR.

Can you tell me who makes the external mirrors on the Matech GT1 car? A non-Forum member friend is interested in them.

I don't personally know who is our manufacturer of the door mirrors. All parts are bespoke to Matech. Matech has designed every component (internal and external) for the car, apart from the chassis which is original Ford. If you are thinking of getting those mirrors for your street car, you do realise they are attached through the window, (that does not open).

As for the race team, yes it is up for sale, so please get in touch is you are interested or know someone who is interested in buying a race team that competes at the very highest level of performance and professionalism. As I mentioned above, the development of the cars, both the existing GT1 car and the forthcoming LMGT car are completely custom designed and only use the chassis from the original street car.
