M2K Custom 2" Stainless Headers

Just thought I would post a couple pictures showing the custom fabricated 2" stainless headers with a 3.5" outlet. These headers were custom fabricated in the shop by Kevin Kesterson and will work well with the rest of the build which includes all new internals for the motor along with a custom exhaust and a Whipple to increase the overall performance of the motor.

Mark - I don't see a port for the EGR tube to attach to - has this been eliminated?

For this particular setup and build, it is deleted, but for folks that keep that stock type of setup we just install a small pipe and fitting for it. It all depends on what type of build we are doing if it stays or goes.

Mark, did you have to keep the slip joints because of an installability requirement? I'm not a fan at all of slip joints with turbos downstream.

The collectors we use are a double slip collector which work real well in the applications at M2K Motorsports. The primary tube is in between a inner pipe and outer pipe which allows for zero leakage. It is not like a typical slip on collectors that most folks are used to seeing. We prefer to use this style of collector due to the heat cycling the header goes through in our applications. As you probably are aware, stainless moves around a lot when it gets hot and cold over and over again. These types of collectors help it have a little wiggle room so as to extend the life of the header against flange warpage and cracking. Here is an example of a double slip joint just not an actual collector but the same type design.

I've seen many miles of fine stainless pipe in pharmaceutical and biotech plants, but this work is second to none.
