I noticed that one of my LCA boots was cracking. I experimented a year ago with the product pictured below. Its intended to repair neoprene, rubber and the like (waders for instance). I bought it at Dicks. It is very flexible when cured. I gave it a shot. I cleaned the boot well, and "scuffed it" prior to application. The "glue" self flattened to the boot. The glossier material on the boot is the product cured. The crack is visible through it, at about the "5 o'clock" position. As the LCA is under tension, the tie down held it down to allow me access. Probably not a forever fix, but working for now, after a year, thought I would share.

Yea, won't last but will save you a bundle for the time being as we all know there is no replacement but a new LCA. Scott (nothwoodgt) was trying to come up with a solution. I sent him my old control arms.

Wasn't "one of 101", the UK supporter making or found replacement bushings for the CA's?

Nice job Andy. I need to give that a try.

GT Guys have the parts from Europe. They replaced one for Spirit right after the Rally in Detroit.

I dropped a few replacement boots with Rich and Dennis (GT Guys) at Detroit at Rally X.
We have stock here in the UK too which we can ship to you directly if that helps.

^^^ this is good to know. I did not realize that the project was completed. Can you elaborate the process of the new boot? Does old one come off? or yours goes over some how?

Once upon a time I had an aquarium air pump quit. Being a curious fellow, I took it apart to see what was the problem. Diaphragm had split (the little rubber nipple which flexes about 200 times a minute). Tried a repair with cyanoacrilate (super glue), rubber being one of the few things on which it works well. Returned the pump to the aquarium, the fix lasted for another year. Somewhere over 100 million flexes. I was impressed.
Worth a try while waiting for the new part, which might just sit on your shelf as a spare for some time.

The boots are a direct replacement for the stock ones.
You need to drop the arm off the knuckle and then they're fairly straightforward. Easy enough on a ramp.
I can include instructions if anyone needs them.

I have a spare set of billet rear lower control arms which have never been installed. They are sitting on a shelf in my garage, and I noticed that one of the boots has split. Both arms on my GT also have split boots. I would not be surprised if many more cases than reported actually exist.
