Hey John. So sorry to hear about your loss. No question my dad was my best friend. Impossible to replace the loss but thank God the memories last forever. I still talk to my dad. It's a one way conversation but I wouldn't trade the visit for anything. Hang in there. You are in my prayers.

My condolences to you and your family

Your dad was a cool guy and everybody including me enjoyed meeting him. He certainly knew exactly how you felt about him and vice versa. God bless him. Hang in there buddy.

Also my condolences to you and your family. Sounded like you had an amazing relationship with your dad (I wish Mine would be like that, but well ...).

Oh john, very sad to read this. It was an honor to have met your dad on several occasions. Please accept our deepest condolences.

So sorry to hear. Your dad was very fortunate to have a son that loved him so much as to make him part of his adult life, cherish those memories. I said goodbye to my father in '07 and the loss is still felt daily but it does help me to know that he knew how much I loved him. God Bless.

+100. I lost my father in 1996. Unfortunately, I was drafted into the military during Vietnam and received a mandatory 7 year commitment after completing flight training. Consequently, I was only able to see my father once a year since I was stationed all over the world during my career. You indeed were very fortunate to have been able to spend a lot of time with your father. The loss will always be painful, but revel in the knowledge that you were able to spend many precious days with him. My condolences. God bless.

Like many others, I too had the opportunity to meet your father. A very cool man. Little wonder why you turned out so well. I admired the obviously close relationship that the two of you had. I had no such relationship with my father and frankly had very little contact with him after I left the house at the age of 17. He passed a way a few years ago and I barely knew him. You did it right. Maximizing your time with him. Infinitely enjoyable for him and no doubt the same for you. It sucks that we are mortal - but you did well. I hope my son (Ryan) is just like you. I dream to have such a close relationship for many, many years to come. God bless.
