Monterey
Gentlemen,
After a plesant 10 hour drive fueled by Red Bull, fast food, and old rock & roll I've landed at the Hyatt Regency bar in Monterey. A couple Makers Mark Manhattens have taken the edge off nicely and I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Earlier today I completed insurance arrangements with our good friend Drew at Classic Auto Insurance. Drew presented about 10 different options and with a multi car discount I was really happy with the rate. And honestly, even if you don't buy your insurance from him, Drew is just a great GT enthusiast and all around good guy that everybody here should know.
I checked in with Mike at Reliable Carriers and everything is dialed in for my Tuesday delivery. Now all I need is a Ford victory on Sunday and I'm all set.
I've had some great experiences in my life. A month long East African dangerous game safari is a special time in a man's life. A rare experience that few will ever have. That's what this week feels like. I've abandoned my business and I'm living in an alternate reality that's really fun.
Ok, it's just a car. It's got 4 wheels and a V-6 just like my Taurus. No big deal right? Ah, no. This is better than bagging an elephant with 8 foot long tusks (before anybody gets upset I haven't been successful in taking a trophy elephant despite a Herculean effort).
Perhaps one more cocktail before I head to my room. Tomorrow I'll meet up with Terry & Monica. The smell of race fuel and the sound of endurance racers will fill the air. I'll bump into many Forum members and it's going to be a great day. For those that are here, my cell is (602) 430-4877. Send me a text.
It's all a dream and it's all real. And if it's not I'm going to be really pissed when I wake up. Cheers.
Chip
