Forget the Ring, I would love to see stock cars trying make it 10 laps around Laguna Seca in the summer. Smoking brakes, soaring oil temps and paddle shifting transmission check lights would abound. You'll never see that tested or printed in Motor Trend magazine.
Cheers,
George
The marvel of the ring is it's a driver's challenge as much as a car test. Nearly 100 turns, 80% are blind, 1000+ft elevation change, many lines, over one hundred pavement changes, including concrete, humps and brows across half the width some places, lines change as speed goes up. And in the rain, forget last year's line, that's been polished, find what works in your head. Every car runs differently on it and must prove itself an athlete. The driver needs fortitude to push hard in spite of zero run off. We do have some very classic and important tracks, LS, VIR, RA, LR all fabulous, but the Nurburgring is truly special on all counts.
