Guys last night oin NBC at 8pm was the premier of the new season of Knight Rider taken from their 2 hour movie earlyier this year. The show was pretty cool with regards to the car and how it morphs/transforms in to a ford pick up truck and a souped up drags racer type of the late 60s (attack mode). Story and acting was lame, his sweetheart not bad to look at.
The car is a Shelby GT 500 KR, all black with silver top double stripe. Next week is a race type plot and in that show there is a Ford GT white with blue stripe. Great, next week's show will have the 2 best colours avail for the GT!!:biggrin

I agree with Joey

I agree with Joey. Many things are better left where they belong......back in the 80s!!!!

Different target crowd.

The show was made for a different target crowd, the kids that will be buying the car we now own twenty years from now. Autoweek had a good editorial a few weeks ago, A lot of us 60 year old guys have a little bit of that hot rod 18 year old brain yet. The show did suck, but let any one us see our "baby" in a previews, I bet there will be some tune in.

I e-mailed the producers and typed to them,

two strikes you're out!! The commercials that aired during the season premiere of Knight Rider were better shot, better directed, better casted and much more entertaining to watch than the show itself.. what gives?

Yes I did leave all my pertinent information so that I may be on my way to being black balled out of this industry...

Still no reply....

The original Knight Rider was poorly acted, lame storylines, and over-the-top and unrealistic action.

Except for the choice of car, seems the new one is true to the old in so many ways.

I don't think this will be the new Michael Knight's career launch in Germany to many grammy nominations...

I saw a re-run on Sci-fi last night and tried REALLY hard to watch the entire show. Unfortunately I couldn't stand it after about 3 minutes.

I don't think we are in their target demographics.

How many of us would/could watch 'The Dukes of Hazard', the original 'Knight Rider', 'Batman', 'The Green Hornet', etc...now that our tastes have matured and are so sophisticated. :biggrin

I agree it is outside our target market. However anytime I can see our great cars on video I'm interested to see it. Next week the Ford GT is featured, after that we can stop watching it.
By the way watched a few episodes of the old shows of Mod Squad and Get Smart. Boy it is now hard to watch this stuff today.

I missed the premiere and was curious. I got through about 6.5 minutes, enough to see the transformations (of both KITT and also Sarah with her hair down).

I'll be sure to check it out next week when the Ford GT is shown.

Here is a link for the brave.

Just an update on this show. There were 2 Ford GTs- a blue with white stripe parked only, with clam shell open and a white with blue stripe that was in a road race. Only showed less athan a minute of the start of the road race and that was it for the GTs.
At least the GT was in the lead from the start.:rofl

Yeah, when I saw that I told my son that short of the GT crashing, or a breakdown, there was no way the KR would beat the GT. I think the end of that race would have been painful to watch. :frown

Never the less, we were flipping through channels, and once that section was over. I was done with the show. I don't think anyone in the family is going to watch it again.

Unless Stunts posts that he is doing a cameo! Perhaps with a mountain lion that KITT saves him from. :biggrin
