Jena 6 ???

Have any of you followed the story about this town in the south?
Some ignorant white kids hung nooses in trees out in the school yard (I think) and later that same week, some ignorant black kids beat 'em up (to death)

So, now, 5 of 'em are being charged as adults and 1 as a juvenile..


This is just to follow up on this weeks posts of our society...

And here's what I don't get: 5 or 6 black kids beat up ONE white kid who (acc'ding to the records) had ZERO to do with that whole "tree" thing ...the black kids are arrested for beating up the white kid ... and the REVEREND Jackson, et al, go down there screaming, "Free the Jena 6!!!", (or 5, or whatever the total is)!

Say, HUH??? :eek FREE THEM 'CAUSE WHY, 'ZACTLY???

I wonder if part of the 1,000 or so "marchers" were the origional "O.J." jurors.

The world makes NO sense at all anymore.

No. "AL" is the OTHER racial hate merchant - uh - preacher. It was Jackson who was shooting off his mouth down there today. At least I didn't SEE Sharpton on the news. 'Just saw Jackson. ('Guess Sharpton musta missed his plane or something, 'cause it was Jackson who obviously won the race to get there first to take center stage.)

And, if you remember, Sharpton was the loon taking the side of that fraud Tawanda Brauley (sp?) ,or whatever HER name was, who falsely claimed SHE was assaulted by whites too.

Anybody know WHICH church(es) Sharpton & Jackson are ordained ministers OF? "The Church of What's Happenin' Now, Baby", er what 'zactly? :shrug

The white student is NOT dead. He did go to the hospital but was released in a few hours and went to a school function that night. The alleged attackers are being charged with attempted murder. The out cry comes from the severity of the charges against the black students while the white students who hung the nooses got a simple school suspension, many saw the noose incident as a Hate Crime which should bring much more sever punishment. 'Agree "suspension" should have been "expulsion" at a minimum...and attempted murder would depend on facts we don't have knowledge of (though on the surface, it certainly seems a weeeee bit "over the top" to be sure), but, as to the "adult" trial status; all over the country teens are charged as adults for crap like this. So, why should any of THESE thugs be treated any different?:shrug

Better question: why the screams of, "RELEASE 'EM!!! How is THAT justifiable no matter HOW one looks at it? 'Two wrongs make a right down there do they?

As for Jena, it may be in poor taste and politically incorrect to hang a nooses from a tree, but hardly as serious as a bunch of guys beating the crap out of one person, who had nothing to do with the nooses, just because he is white; that is a hate crime! Although I do think attempted murder is stretch.

The ropes in the tree was a hate crime. I would hate for my kids to feel that type of prosecution at school. Can you immagine? Just because no one was hurt doesn't mean there wasn't an intent to fill those ropes with people. It should prosecuted as a crime.

The black kids that beat up the white kids... certainly a criminal case. The actual charge depends on the circumstances, simple assault, aggravated assault, maybe attempted murder… depends on the circumstances. I say let the DA make his case. If it turns out to be a trumped up charge elect a new guy.

I do not have access to all the information so I can’t make a judgment call on it.

the media/al/jesse are going to tell the world what makes a good story........there were 20,yes,20 satelite TV trucks in Jena yesterday and today, worldwide coverage for what al and jesse said was a SCHOOLYARD TUSSLE.......

Here's a quick rundown of the FACTS;

Some black kids asked some white kids to sit with them on the schoolyard under a tree, the white kids objected and the black kids left, they later came back with a mob, teachers broke it up, nothing happened.......

white kids hung three nooses in the tree to scare the black kids off, they were caught and were suspended from school........District Attorney refused to press charges against the white boys because it IS NOT AGAINST THE LAW TO HANG A ROPE IN A TREE IN LOUISIANA......

2 of the Jena 6 tried to crash a private party of whites off campus, started a fight with the adult chaperones, cops came,NO ARRESTS

mob of blacks stop this one white boy between the parking lot and school and attack him and beat the crap out of him, leaving him for dead,6 boys were arrested, but all the witnesses (all black BTW) say as many as a dozen boys took part in the beating........

All were arrainged and 5 made bail, one could not make bail so he stayed in jail........

The one in jail was a tried first and found guilty, all witnesses were black!!!!!!!!!

BTW: here's a little rundown of his past record: convicted as a juvenile of 4 violent offences, including the beating of a 14 year old black girl with a pipe, she almost died from the beating..he also has been arrested and charged with 2 more violent offences which he has NOT gone to court yet on, but his momma says he is a good boy!!!!!!!!yea, right.......

Now jessie and al get involved and say it's all Racism, THEY ARE RIGHT, it is racism, the black racist against the whites!!!!!!!!!!!!!they all say the white boy and other whites deserved what they got, but, they can't say why.......

It's also common knowledge in the area that the black boy already convicted and in jail is the leader of his "own street gang" that has been harrasing the blacks as well as the whites and by his own words "rule the streets of Jena"...................

You forgot the part when the local DA came to school and told the students to "stop fussing" over the noose incident and that he said "[w]ith one stroke of my pen, I can make your life disappear." Black students felt he was addressing the comment at them.

Bottom line this thing has spun so far out of scope, scale, truth, and just about everything else, that none of us will ever untangle truth from fiction. One thing is clear (to me at least) if not the incidents themselves, the circumstances that lead folks to their actions, than at least the responses our nation has had to them show we have a long way to go toward equality for all in this country.

While Bony is obviously very capable of defining what he ment 'more gooder' than the rest of us can on his behalf, I took it to mean 'zactly what Bony said (typed): there is evidently no law down there against hanging any kinda rope in a tree - and THAT'S why nobody was arrested for doing it. 'Last I heard, a D.A. can't go around making up laws to 'rest folks with. (Well, maybe if your name is Nyfong[sp?].:lol)

I see no caps in any of the posts.... am I missing something?
I don't agree that hanging a noose was the right thing to do.
I do agree that repeat offenders need to be treated harshly.
I am one of the founders and backers of THE THREE STRIKES LAWS, spent two years of my life working on it.

It has had it's affect way beyond Jena. Today in High Point NC at a High School they found four noose's hanging in a tree. Al and Jesse wanted attention - they got it.....
