Watched Leno tonight. Always enjoyed his monologues and admired his "clean "style. I don't know him personally, but he seems a very admirable person and well deserving of his success. There aren't many class acts like him and I will miss him. Hopefully his September show will pick right up where he left off.:cheers

I also enjoyed his monologues and especially the Jay Walking segments. I did however change the channel when the Hollywood liberal interviews segment started.

Everytime those "Jaywalking" segments came on, I often wondered whether he had to interview a few dozen people or so before he stumbled onto the 4 or 5 'dim' folks he used on the air. (Lemme put it this way: I'd HOPED he had to interview that many.)

'Was a bit stunned to find out that wasn't the case at all.:frown:willy:willy:willy

I now fully support returning to voter literacy tests...

"In what country is the Panama Canal located?" "Uhhh...China?"

LMAO!

I remember when Jay took over for Carson.... I was happy then, but sad now to see him leave before he's really ready.

Will not be watching Conan, he's too much of a spaz for me, but I will be following Jay to his new time slot.

I find Conan one of the most repulsive human beings on earth. If I ever saw him driving a BMW I don't know what I would do.

"Beauty is in the eye..........?"
"...of the beer holder?"

"A house divided................?"
"...is two houses?"

"How was Korea devided"?
"In half?"

"Who won the Civil War?"
"We did."

"How long does it take the earth to go around the sun?"
"A month?"

"Who killed President Lincoln?"
(Pointing to a painting of the event) "That guy."

"When did Columbus discover America?"
"1852."

"What is the name of the building where coins are produced?"
"The coin producing building?"

I CRINGE at the thought of these people in a voting booth. Hopefully no one ever TAKES 'em to one. (And hopefully they couldn't operate the levers.)

We've always been a Jay fan and I have honked at him many of times over the years.... Kip is pretty good friends with him and visits his shop from time to time when he's in town.

I look fwd to the new time slot....

As far as Conan goes, well when he first started, hated him!!!! But he grew on us or I've just digressed over the years :confused either way, Steph and I call him "Crazy Conan" and have enjoyed his show for the last couple of years now....

HHGT - ditto on Conan. I just don't get it - 90% of the time.

Met Jay once up at the "Rock Store" on Mulholland Highway in So Cal. It's a fave for the bike guys on Sundays. He was on a Honda Rune - brand new at the time. Very friendly and just one of the guys. Pitty more clebs are not that way.

Well, I watched the first 10 mins or so of Conan's opener tonight...and I came away thinking the new studio was great.

I truely do hope in time he manages to 'grow into the show's tradition' so to speak. 'Always prefer to see someone make a go of it.

I met Jay last Sunday at a car meet in Calabasas and it confirmed everything I have thought about him. It really felt like seeing and old friend and a true Superhero. He took time to talk to everyone and took pictures with everybody. It was a bit chilly so my son had tucked his arms in his T-Shirt and right after I shaked hands with him, he said look it this boy "Hes got No Arms" !!! My son pulled his arms out and started laughing and the crowd followd. Oh yes of course he had his EchoJet there!!! He is such a king.

BINGO!!! Situations like these are when people like Jay just S-H-I-N-E!

(Some of my favorite "Carson" shows involve screw ups too! Remember, "Welcome to The Tonight Show bris"?!)

I did not watch the Tonight show with Jay Leno very often but when I did, I always found it funny and enjoyable.

Conan on the other hand is just annoying and obnoxious. Jay Leno never had to try hard for the laughs, he was just funny and that caused people to laugh. Conan tries way too hard and just makes himself look desperate.

I tried giving him the benefit of the doubt and I watched the first show. I changed the channel after about fifteen minutes or so.

I still think that RWD LS7 TT powered 66 Toronado of his is the coolest car on the planet. Well...coolest 4 seater, anyway.

That would be a close second, since they both have a C5 Corvette chassis under them...but since I am too young to have a soft spot for 50s cars (or 60s cars for that matter) the timeless lines of that Toro and the perfectly crafted interior just do it for me.
