It is time once again to revisit an old friend

Folks over the last couple months there have been several threads in which the topic of the OEM boosts gauge calibration or a true retro-fit mechanical gauge has been discussed. In fact in at least one it was presented that the tweak was right around the corner.

Well; last night I was reviewing my project “hit” list and darned if this issue doesn’t still remain unresolved.

So I ask; who has a viable alternative or fix close to being completed so that folks such as myself with the Whipple as well as those with smaller pulleys that were tuned using the Mafia or ? which alters the voltage reading at the MAF can have a OEM or OEM looking gauge display numbers that mean something?

Many appear to have acquiesced to the erratic operation of the gauge as acceptable however in my anal world it is “nits” such as this that drive me knuts. Certainly I twist and tweak on the gals all the time however at the end of the day I want all systems to operate and in doing so to mean something.

So again I ask; is there a plan in the works and if so when will be completed and to whom do the accolades and funds get directed to?

Thank you all

Does the boost gauge just peg or does it read low? Does the vaccum read correct or is it bad also?

I'm waiting on the first gauge to be finished. I'll let everyone know as soon as I get the first gauge. Lots of custom work!

Thank you MIchael

What is a timeline? I ask not to pressure but rather so I can get a handle on the projects surrounding my gal.

I appreciate all your efforts; BTW what is the finished piece to be based on your final vision; retro OEM faced mechanical gauge, signal calibrater or ??

All the best

Shadowman, The new gauge faces are still being laser cut. There are multiple layers to get the gauge to look the same as the factory unit. Hopefully by the end of next week the faces will be ready. After that it should be only about a week or two to make the fixtures up for the gauge run. Once I have the first gauge done and installed in my car, I'll post pictures and a review. The gauge will be an electronic unit with full sweep face, LED back lighting, Factory appearing face and aftermarket pressure sending unit. It will look exactly the same as the stock gauge, only it will read up to 30psi.

Most likely in the engine compartment. I'd like to make everything as easy as possible to install, yet be unnoticeable from either inside the cabin or engine compartment. Once I have the first unit I'll make instructions and a harness for the installation.
