Is it possible to get to the AUX-out without pulling the head?

It looks like you were able to pull the cables through the cut out. That makes more sense. I tried to go from the rear and no way to get in that area at all on my car.

I could feel a cable with my fingers going through that cut out on the drivers side. Is that where you were able to snag it from?.

Yes, that's where they were. I was lucky enough to see the RCA jacks without having to fish around for them. They were just sitting there a few inches back. They were taped to a large cable (possibly the one you felt). I tried to pull on the wire bundle to move it closer to the front, but there wasn't much slack.
