........and if you're over the age of 45, you'll wish you did. Paul McCartney returned to the Ed Sullivan theater in New York City yesterday. And in a reprise to the Beatles last public performance on January 30, 1969, on the rooftop of Apple music's headquarters near Piccadilly Circus, Paul McCartney and his band played a seven song set to a stunned group of assembled fans and many folks who just happened to be in the right place at the right time, as they did it on the rooftop of the Ed Sullivan Theater marquee during yesterday's filming of Late Night with David Letterman. An estimated 50,000 New Yorkers gathered on the streets below.

Watching Paul and his bandmates play "Get Back" on the rooftop 40 years after the last time the Beatles played that tune in public on a British rooftop, made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Take a moment to click on the link below. It's guaranteed to make you smile. All the best.

I think that's payback for the BBC killing Top Gear on the web....
Uh guys who wants to watch 2 year old episodes of a car show?
:bored

now back to our regularly scheduled programing.

Like the rest of America, I was watching The Ed Sullivan Show when the Beatles 1st appeared waaaaaaay back when (oddly enough - from a hospital room. But, that's a whole 'nuthur' story). I seriously doubt there were more than three Americans in the whole country (who had T.V. sets) who weren't! That event was the moon landing, Elvis, and "Payton Place" (too old a reference?) all rolled into one! :lol

For those of you who are too young to know, the hype over the Beatles being on the Sullivan show back then was "Thriller" times about 100. :biggrin

Top Gear is still available here, at least for now: http://hessmo.com/h/Terms_of_Service.html

We were fortunate to see Paul McCartney perform at Hard Rock Vegas a couple months ago during The Joint's grand reopening weekend following an extensive renovation. Paul played for over 2 hours, non-stop. Didn't even see him take a swig of water.

A most amazing and special evening.

Wow, incredible.

Saw it on Youtube - great.

Paul is still looking good (despite the awful hair colouring) when compared to Keith Richards!! Mind you, most people, including Tutankhamen, look better than Keith.
