Hi guys, I'm 6'4 and I was just wondering what my options are for lowering my seat. I’ve heard that people are removing some of the foam from the seat. Are there any other options? Is there a way to lower it with a different seat mount kit? Can we change out the driver’s seat to say a sparco evo? I’d just like to stay away from ruining the factory seat and I’d still like to retain it as it looks soo good? If cutting the foam out is the only way, can anyone give me a few tips that I could pass on to an interior shop so they don’t wreck it.

I would suggest sending it to Knights Autoworks, Steve Hemstock. Ph#715-702-2727. He has done many seats by removing the foam. Excellent work. You'll be hard pressed to know it wasn't stock. He also does a "wideman" seat.

Hi 930Shark,

I am 6-3 and although normal driving was ok, I could not drive the car with a helmut on. My solution was to purchase a race seat from Safecraft, and then build a frame to attach it to the floor. It now takes me less than 5 minutes to switch seats from street to track. Lately though I have been leaving the race seat in because it is just as comfortable as the OEM, but does give more lateral control because it is a wrap around seat. I posted pics of the seat, the frame, and the installation some time back. The seat was under $300 and the frame was made out of 3/4 square tubing that I had here. It bolts to the floor with the stock four bolts. If I knew how to find that old post and slip it in here I would, but hopefully it can be searched for.
