Take the engine out and throw in a huge cam and it will sound the same. Performance wise wont do much!

And what do you mean by "LOVED"?
 
I'm aware of overlap :) I loved my GT but I sold it. Thinking of something new not quite so refined. Was never into the wine and cheese crowd I guess, nothing personal to those that like wine and cheese...
 
PS without the 180 degree headers or a flat plane crank, you could not generate the same sound with a GT either.

That is what makes the FGT so wonderful. Not too many stuckup, arrogant, poser folks like with other exotics. Not so much "wine & cheese" here, more buns and weiners. More owner's should drive trhem though. I love every "smile" I put on it and it puts on me. I love the fact that the wheelwells are dirty, a chip/scratch or two, some scuffs on the wheels.....priceless. Garage queens suck and their owners are too anal for me.
 
Yep, big lopey sound :) It is the cam that makes it do that at low RPMs, and gives you a high RPM high RPM high output power plant. As you heard yesterday :)

:eek Sorry to hear that.

BTW, Are you positive the small block Fords had flat plane cranks?

BTW 2. The naturally aspirated Big Block Fords in my boat sound just like the first video you posted. Headers with no mufflers help that sound.
 
I'm not positive about anything :) The GT40s with the 180 degree headers produce a unique sound that is different than the normal cross plane crank V8.
 
Looks like Shelby has a red GTX-1 for sale...........maybe a chance to step back into the FGT world!

Yes, and he got black-flagged at Thunderhill last Tuesday for "exceeding the allowable noise limits."
