Yes !!

:biggrin I'm with you Fred. This year I'm going to giev up the "quantity" brands (Miller Lite, Coor Light etc.) and move more into the quality brands. Maybe this way I can have my cake and eat it to ie. loose weight while enjoying the beer... just a thought. Might have to start that exercise thing:bored

BTW - Isn't it funny that bottled water costs twice what a gallaon of gas in the US costs. Who'd ever thunk it.

Talk to ya soon Fred. This year ended GREAT!

Mike,

It has been a "Very Good Year" indeed for us too.

Looking forward to 2007.

GAME ON !!

modified New Year's resolution...

MJ, did I send you a spell checker for Christmas?? What is this bonEy?? Have you been talking to my urologist again, never mind what that pathologist sez:cheers :biggrin :cheers

Dearest Bony (better?), I was about to send you & our good friend Dr. Pickle a lovely Happy New Year's note wishing you the best. I even found a few new avatars that you & the boys would enjoy. :lol Then from out of nowhere I see this huge Palmetto bug (which is like a 2 inch FL roach) flying at me! I had no idea these ugly things could fly, but sure enough it looked me right in the eyes & flew straight for my nose! I dove out of the way, knocking over the laptop, a large stack of papers, & my bottled water, & screamed louder than I thought humanly possible. It crawled into something & then flew again & disappeared. I can handle climbing mountains & jumping out of planes, but not this!!! Too afraid to walk across the room & turn off the light, I grabbed my keys & ran terrified out of the house. My upstairs neighbors came running down thinking that someone was attacking me. Nope, just a big ugly brown bug. :bored There was no way I could go back inside, so I went out for a couple of hrs.

Finally my heart rate returned to normal & I decided to face my apartment again... I turned on all the lights & started to search the house. Nothing. I stood there listening. No sound. So I decide to try & get some sleep. I planned to leave the light on just in case, but sure enough, it burns out as I flip the switch. 15 minutes later, laying in the dark completely petrified, I hear this sound. I look up, & see the dark shadow of something flying onto my blanket. :eek After freaking out & trying hard not to scream again, I spent the last 10 minutes hunting it down & killing it. I stomped on it at least 20 times & it was still moving. Finally his body stilled & he found his way into the toilet bowl to be flushed far, far away from me. I am now laying wide awake wondering just how many others are out there waiting for the right moment to attack me! :frown

For those of you who keep telling me to bring out my girly side a bit more? I believe that was it! So now I've decided to change my New Year's resolutions... Forget the Pepsi! I need to find a man who can protect me from these scary monsters, just in case...

Piccola was this the expression on your face?

http://www.blufftontoday.com/images/palmettobug.jpg

Info on the bug

http://www.dudeface.com/pbdefinit.html

The last little detail to distinguish the Palmetto Bug from your average cockroach is that they are armored. Step on one and you're lucky if you get its attention. You don't even get the pleasure of squishing one.

How to kill one?

I hope the New Year bring death to all of the Palmetto Bugs in your home!

Do you have them in CA too? I haven't seen a Palmetto bug in my house in months & never saw one fly before! This thing was a bit bigger than the one in that picture & I'm sure if my reaction was caught on video it would give you quite a laugh (especially those of you who know me). :rofl It now looks like a tornado went through the place! :frown I will sleep w/the lights on...just in case.

Have a good night & Happy New Year's!:cheers

We have the smaller roaches in CA. In my college days my 1st apartment had a lot of roaches. We killed them with shooting rubber bands, tortured them in by roasting them in a toaster oven and fed them to our pet spiders. These are the sicko things boys will do. Now the FL roaches are too tough for rubber bands and they are too big for most spiders. I would recommend a heavy dose of insecticides!

A relatively safe insecticide is boric acid

http://www.alsnetbiz.com/homeimprovement/boric_acid.html

Termidor may work and is sold only to "pest control professionals."

Termindor is EPA approved only for termites and ants when applied outdoors only! I have heard of good results with this stuff indoors for other critters, but cannot recommend that since it would be against EPA labeled use. It is odorless and colorless. The bugs don't even know that stuff is there, but if they contact the stuff they will die in hours. Any other bugs they touch will be poisoned too and die. That is how it takes out a whole ant colony in a few days when just sprayed on a trail.

Okay my dear, now you're making it sound like I live w/a bunch of roaches.:ack I USUALLY have a bug free house. This was not a roach, but a big ugly flying palmetto bug that I proudly killed (after only a few hrs of freaking out). :biggrin Thanks for the boric acid tip. Lucky for me, my apt has a bug guy. :thumbsup Now I just have to last until Wed... :lol

BTW, sorry for highjacking the soda thread.:wink

MJ- they are quite harmless. When I can catch one I bring it to the kids, and they have a blast. Huge aren't they? Don't worry they hardly ever bite.

Happy New Years to all !

I gave up Diet Coke on February 17th last year. I use to drink 6-12 every day. I now sleep better, require less sleep, have lost mega pounds and have more energy. I will never go back. Just H2O for me!!:cheers

Sorry Piccola, I didn't mean to imply that you have roach problems, just trying to help with the extermination. I believe the Powell doctrine of "overwhelming force." I cannot go to sleep when just one mosquito is in the room, the buzz near my ears ruins my whole night! I know if I don't kill it I will wake up in the middle of the night with an itchy face with welts are over.

Now getting back to the original topic, I used to drink diet cola a lot, maybe 10 to 15 cans a day and thought nothing of it. It was funny when I slept in, I woke up with a headache. Humm, I didn't get my caffeine fix in time. Later I noticed that if I drank 3 cans at a sitting I would get develop a rash. That is when I gave the stuff up. I still drink the stuff maybe once every 2 weeks, but not more.

Boy, I never new diabetes was so simple. Piccola, you should leave the light on IN ANOTHER ROOM, so the bugs are attracted there, and not to your room (and I'm not making any other comments on that). I put away 7-8 Pepsi's a day and haven't gained an ounce or a headache ever. Never, ever drank coffee. Everybody's metabolism is different and exercise is a most important factor I still believe God is DNA and genetics is the answer.

I don't drink much soda. And calories wise, juices are just as bad. They also don't have much nutritional value. I worked out, drank water all the time, and lost about 8 pounds.

But I started drinking juices again, and stopped working out, so I am gaining again.

I dont even get a rush when I drink Coke. I used to wake up in the middle of the night, go to the fridge, down a coke in 10 seconds, and go back to bed and sleep like a baby.:lol

Well, I think it was one of your past boy friends that came back as bug to taunt you. Remember the one you killed and chopped up with a chain saw.
I would volunteer to protect you, but bugs, snakes and spiders bring out the girlie side of me as well.... that's why God invented DELK PEST CONTROL.

Glad you had an exciting evening. Normally when my wife screams like that it's because she saw a cancelled check for another toy...:biggrin :rofl

I gave up Diet Coke as well, but noticed no weight loss, why do you suppose you lost weight?

Question, whatever happened to your buddies Cobra? I heard it was wrecked.
Old Roy just asked me for a favor, turned him down without looking back...XXXhole.

Happy New Year, I hope that I have one friend as stand up as you have proved to be.:thumbsup
