How to buy...get on list?

I'm over it. I am in the process of picking my colors and options on a SV.:thumbsup

And I bought a 2016 911 TTS coming in July, just around my Bday!

The difference between lust, infatuation, and love. Lotta lust and infatuation over this car. They fade and/or move on to another object.

I don't think it is possible to have true love for the FGT2 without at least a few dates. :lol

That car will probably ruin you. I see it being one of those cars that you judge all others by.

Agreed

I think that everyone needs to remember something, the car is designed to race in a class and have the ability to win that class. The street version is a necessary evil that is required to participate. Why would they care about allocations, who gets what, options etc when it is not the primary objective. The street cars will no doubt sell out no matter what is offered. If this were a serious effort to build the best super car it would have a turbocharged direct injected flat crank Coyote engine and a bunch of very expensive options. It is a merely a very competitive race car that has to meet minimum sales volumes to race.

Thank you! :cheers

Now, how many cupholders does it have? :biggrin

Your right, it seems that they don't care about allocations (customers). Something awesome happened with the 05/06 GTs era and they are turning their back on that it seems. Maybe it will change for the good but as it sits right now I am very disappointed. Over the past 2 years I have purchased roughly 100 to 150 Ford vehicles and am #1 with two different dealers. And I probably wont be able to get one!

If someone who buys that much cant get one....who the hell can? There are many people out there that are much more deserving of a GT than me for various reasons aside from volume of purchases and they don't have a chance. Pretty disheartening.

I am not a big Ferrari fan but they have the right loyalty program.

How so? Nobody even knows how the cars will ultimately find their way to consumers! :lol

I also think that this is by far the best way the GT could return for the 50th Anniversary. It's a totally different car than the last one with a totally different mission (which largely dictates production volume), which is a good idea for Ford and it works out well for people happy that their 05/06 isn't just "another" GT. Different eras, each special for their own reasons. I'm quite certain that there would be a whole lot of meltdown going on if Ford had brought out the new car at a 4k unit run for $250k. Hell, over the last 6-7 months I watched around the internet as a number of GT owners careened towards a meltdown simply at the prospect of the name coming back for fear of what it would do to the value of their car.

Whether I end up getting one or not, I'm just glad it exists, for the same reason I'm glad LaFerrari, P1, 918, etc exist.

Your right, we don't. But it doesn't leave much to the imagination when there are only going to be 250 a year built. Does it?

The allocation arrangements are pretty straightforward. You are not getting one.

ROFL!!! :biggrin

I myself, am writing a book, trying to get my own primetime TV show, building a horrifically large oil well in the middle of my 1.5 acre lot in Illinois, all while selling a boat load of coke for an Ex CEO of an automotive firm... I believe I have just been moved up to allocation 1,999. :biggrin

I agree.
I'm stoked to see this thing in action and even more excited to hear what the new program team has to say about it. Can't wait to register for GTR10 :-)

I think Ford should build a two seat sports car in between a Vet and an Aston in the 150-200 range and build it every year making refinements as the car progresses.

I have a feeling that the GT350R is going to be such a dynamite car, that it may be perceived as America's 911 GT3 or even GT3RS, especially when/if the paddle shifted transmission arrives. I spoke with some dyed in the wool Porshcephiles after they drove a B2 LS last year, and they couldn't believe how good a car IT was for the $$. With the IRS and 70+ more horses, the GT350 out to be a monster. It may not fill the void of a betweener/Aston/Z06, but for the dough, I'm betting nothing runs with it , (and that it will embarrass a lot of pricier iron too).

I'm jumping the gun a bit, but many current GT owners have had issues getting dealers to have the technical service/knowlege skills to currently look after them.

How the hell are the new 2016> owners going to have techs on the job with this new animal? 1/1,000,000 cars Ford sells will be this big dollar GT.

Can't think of a car company that has such squeed ratio of basic to extreme.

Stuart

How many Koenigsegg dealers are there in the US (2 I believe)? I would think that (not to this extreme), but the distribution and servicing of this car will be very limited. And those few outlets will be fully qualified. Im sure many will be shipping their car for service.

And a sidetrack, cool "ute"!!

That's a cool "ute". Wow, I read your page on it. Great concept and design.

BTW, are you playing the Masters? If so good luck!!!

Not unless I win in near future (before April)
About to get a herniated disc sorted shortly so out for a few months.

Gentlemen,

Plus one on the above. From the time I bought my GT brand new to today I have always voiced (and posted here) my desire that Ford build a successor to our GT's. Screw effects on resale if there are any. I don't own one of the 134 original GT's (still haven't given up on that) but I'm glad they exist and we are all richer for it. Capitalism and freedom produce dream worthy products that motivate and inspire us. And if Ford takes the GT back to Le Mans in 2016 I will be there watching with the same pride I felt when my son Charley was playing football. All the best.
