I had a list of all the unsold cars at dealers recently and called on all of them. I would say there are about 30 to 40, but most are not for sale for anything under $250k

I said MOST, not ALL.....
And, I consider a NEW car one that has NOT been driven several hundred miles by the dealer. Just because it is on an MSO, etc, IMHO does not mean it is NEW. I consider NEW an undriven car. A car that has not been used for personal enjoyment.
I love these adds i see from Franchised dealers that say, NEW CAR ON MSO, with 2000 + miles. Again, IMHO, that is not new. I think it would be better said, "here is a car with 2000 miles with a FULL 3 year 36k mile warranty that starts when you buy it. Just my $.02

There is one in Cowachella Ca. he listed it for 173,000 but when I called to purchase it the price went to 350,000.

I predict he won't be selling it anytime soon.

OBVIOUSLY it's his real intention to keep it ... or make a killing in place of that if the right wallet walks in.

I had the exact same problem...i didnt hear 350k but i did hear 215+ for the few new cars i called on. i also got "yeah, thats the owners car but it wasnt supposed to be listed for sale at that price" more than once.

Sounds like a great way to get people calling the dealership.

Wait a second...:wink

Amazing, truly conflicts with routine supply and demand. I would say there is a fair amount of emotion involved in selling one of these from the dealer now. I guess the "limited number & unique factor" are pushing prices off the wall. "Buy now" is probably good advice if you are thinking of owning one!

I agree and heard all the same things. There are a few Yellow, Red and Whites that are out there and seem a little easier to come by. The Blue and Orange are really starting to demand a higher price. I believe 100% that these cars will continue to rise in price. I am already thinking of a new number two, just because I have fallen in love with driver this spectacular car.

There is a Red 2005 on display on the floor at Dick Milham Ford in Easton, PA. Still has most of the plastic and seals in place. They say they are "going to keep it", but for the right price, who knows?

At the local Ford dealership here they have a 2005 black with all options and only delivery miles. It has a sold sign on it and last time I was there to drool over it I was told it belonged to the owner. I guess he owns a few others so he's in no hurry to start driving it. Maybe just holding on to it for the value to skyrocket?

With the addition of the 2009 models, the Ford dealer locater system has dropped the 2006 models (as of 3-6-08), however last time I looked (a couple of weeks ago) the locater showed around 30 2006 GTs in dealer inventory. Note that that does not count units reported sold that are still at the dealer nor units "blocked" from the locater by the dealer. Best guess? Around 100 2006's not titled. No idea on the 2005s.

I doubt it's around 100. As you mentioned, the locater did show about 30 06 cars in inventory a few weeks ago. I called on most of them looking for cars for one person or another, and virtually none of them were really for sale. Several of them were long gone. My guess is that there are more like 50-60 total untitled 05 and 06 GT's physically sitting in dealers, and less than half of those are anything but "make me a stupid offer and maybe I might almost sort of kind of consider getting rid of it" cars. I don't consider anything over 215k legitimately for sale.
