GT Owners -- How many of you were able to "order" you vehicle and have it "built" to your specs?:confused

heritage ordered

We ordered our Heritage to our specs without the Mac and with standard wheels. Our first GT (red) has all the options and is great but we really don't like or need the big speaker in the middle and the mac..
Saleen SSV let us come up and watch it get built. How else could you explain :thumbsupspring break in Detroit when you live in Florida? We had a great time and hopefully my son will keep that car for many years.

I had one ordered and was scheduled to go to Wixom to see it built. Unfortunately the dealer didn't get an allocation for a Heritage and as such I had to buy off the lot :(

Oh well.

With great fortune and a few good connections I was able to get on the company VIP list mid year 2005, but all 2005 VIP's were allocated so we were out on for an early 2006.

#395 Tungsten, full stripes, standard radio, standard wheels and red calipers.

Now GTX1 #55, bumper delete, CF all the way around, seat inserts to silver, convience package, and X1 stereo and sub woofer.

I ordered my GT through Arrow Ford in Abilene, Texas who is a close friend and was able to purchase it at Net, Net cost. My 2006 Gt was ordered white with Blue center stripes, upgrade radio and upgrade wheels. A 35 year relationship really paid off in my case. I will always be thankful to this Fellow Ford Dealer. Tomy Hamon

I purchase one off the floor, red four options '05 #448 in Sept '05 and ordered a 2nd '06 #1611 "O" option blue with side stripe delete in July of '06 . I was told at the time it was one of the very last build orders to be taken.

+1

My Ford store was only allocated 1 and I was #2 on the list. When Ford announced the second wave of Canadian cars my dealer was awarded a second car which I was fortunate enough to custom order to my specs.

Ordered it in March '06 and was at the dealer when Reliable Transport arrived with it on Oct 2nd - haven't stopped grinning since. :thumbsup

:cheers

I ordered my '06 through Forum Member and Ford Dealer Neil Heller, Heller Ford in Illinois. I picked it up at his dealership and drove directly to Green Bay, WI, for the X1 Conversion, and I will forever be grateful to Neil Heller, Mark Gerisch, the GT Guys, Jerry Wroblewski, Heffner and Michelin for the never ending adrenaline rush. :cheers

Mine was ordered March 13, 2006 via Fairlane Ford in Dearborn, MI.

I was lucky enough that my local dealership found exactly what I wanted...

Bernie at BJ found my second one

I was also lucky that i was able to get through my network what I wanted for the most part.
My order if it was possible would have been an all white, full stripe delete, option wheels, black calipers. No Mac (which I think was not available in Canada anyways).

Factory Ordered GT

I ordered my '06 through Bowen-Scarff Ford in Kent, Washington. 2/14/06
Tungsten, standard wheels, gray calipers silver stripes and NO mac.

I was told it would be "at least" 180 days or so before delivery.

Low and behold it was built the very next week, shooting down my planned trip to Wixom to watch the build. Reliable delivered it the 3rd week of March.

Pure enjoyment ever since.

I placed my deposit at a dealer (SVT) a week after 2002 Detroit autoshow (prototype first shown). Though it was not announced for another 3 months the car was going to be made. Dealer promised list price. I ordered it to my specs however dealer wanted to jack up the price after seeing what early 2005 cars were bringing. With a little legal help I was able to get things straightened out. Not a totally happy experience but I do love the car!!

Ordered #1153 from Clarke Ford in Hudson Ohio

Your kldding me... can't possibly imagine that happening...:frown

I sent a 100K check to Bill Ford for my FGT once it was released at the Detroit Auto Show. I rec'd my check back from MR. Ford stating that if the FGT were to be built i'd have to purchase thru Dealer Allocation. I have the letter somewhere along with the check...

at Lone Star Ford in Houston i found the exact GT i wanted with all the options exactly the way i wanted it. i also bought it for the price i wanted to buy it at as well. i made sure that i had seen all the different GT colors in person b4 i pulled the trigger. in hindsight i was rather lucky but i did my homework long before i made my purchase. this site and www.fordgtprices.com were very instrumental in me being able to get exactly what i wanted at the price i wanted as well.

I was lucky enough to get on the 2005 VIP list and ordered mine in early May, 2005. Midnight Blue, optional wheels, full stripes, red calipers and NO MAC. It was built in late June 2005 (I watched it move down the line and got pictures) and picked it up from Santa Monica Ford on August 23rd, 2005.

It just crossed 12,000 miles and continues to be the most amazing car ever built in my humble and unbiased opinion. :rofl

Ordered mine the way I wanted it.

I got mine thru Ebay. A nearby Wisconsin dealer got an allocation and decided to ebay it. I won the auction and was able to adjust the order how I wanted it. 06 Blue, no stripes, std wheels, no mac, red brakes. I was very happy to get what I wanted and getting it under list was the icing on the cake! Quickdraw told me its the only one like it built in 06.

Was able to order my '06 through Bill Brown Ford, Livonia MI, in May '06. Vehicle had not been bucked yet so I was able to re-configure color and options. Had the pleasure of seeing it while at Wixom in final stages of prep. Delivered end of July just in time for Rally I. GREAT PURCHASE EXPERIENCE.
