Friday was one of the most exciting days of 2017 for me and Renee. We were in Canada for our Multimatic factory tour and to get the first look at our new Ford GT. Started out the day having breakfast with Terry, he has become the good will ambassador/tour guide for Toronto, had a great visit.
We arrived at Multimatic and the fun began. Pearce our tour guide went over the different phases of production and took us to the assembly floor. We were awe struck with all the activity. There were 6 to 8 frames ready to go to assembly 3 to 4 cars waiting on special order items and one getting ready to run on the Dyno. We then walked the assembly line, this is a hands on process and very efficient. We went to each station and got to see the inner workings of the cars as they passed through the assembly process. Our car was 2 stations from complete assembly, all mechanical parts were installed, the doors we on, interior installed and chasses testing complete. #120 had two more stations to pass through for complete assembly. After assembly is complete there are at least 5 more phases to complete from alignment to dyno to water test to paint/fit inspection and a final Ford inspection. QC is over the top and a long process and shows their commitment to building one of the finest Supercars in the world. Got interrupted to go the dyno station and watch/hear a car being tested. Trust me this was a sweet interruption. What a sound this car makes under load! Hope to be in the driver’s seat in three weeks.
Thanks Pearce for a great experience.
Will continue this post at that time.
