Welcome BILL, I changed your status to GT owner.

Please describe exactly what your problem is, does the deck lid close and just not latch?
Does the lid close with the electronic key fob button and not with the manual lever on the drivers side or vise versa?

AJB just had a post a few months ago with pictures of what the latch looks like. You might look at his old post.

Front trunk closing

Yep, when I first took ownership of my gal, this one was confusing - both opening and closing. Sounds like you have the opening part solved. Re closing, I lower the lid to about 6 inches from the closed position and then gently slam it to securely latch it. Push from the center - above the inside latch. Always try to yank it open just to check that it really did latch. It isn't obvious when it doesn't.
And enjoy the car.

When closing. Press directly above the latch.

Bill Reid, as an aside, your wipers won't work if the front hood is not latched.

What is more important, wipers, or bottle holders?

I just let the hood drop from about 10 to 12 ". Then tug on it to make sure it locked. Works everytime !! :banana

Guys,
Thks for all the quick replies. The front hood is the one that is not cooperating. I have tried the slam, the push in the middle over the latch, gritted my teetth etc and the latch will simply not engage. Will try to find the e-mail thread mentioned to see if there is something else I can glean from the pics of the latch. Any other ideas would be helpful.
Many thanks,
Bill Reid
