Why is it better if you get a really great shop to do it (with better results than the factory). Why is it intrinsically better to have a factory paint job? Rarity? What is rare about paint? Not trying to be argumentative just devils advocate.

Factory paint jobs (especially after 7 years) will never look as good as a pro shop working very carefully to reproduce a new one. Not to mention leaving the factory stickers behind in favor of all paint work. IMHO

Remember "natural" after a while gets saggy and old...LOL
Very good point(s)I don't care for saggy and old, maybe that's why people seem to replace their wive/women as often as their cars. I'd do a "Heritage" wrap, before I'd repaint a car Heritage. JMHO, but I'd think that a repaint no matter how good, would diminish the value to a collector.

Same goes for accident rebuilds I guess. But would you rather have an unmolested car, or one on a salvage title (rebuilt using new parts by the GT Guys - I use them as an example because you KNOW it would be as good/better than a factory new car)? Brand spanking new rebuilt salvage or 8 year old 'saggy'. I know my preference. And I note your devil's advocate position, so I'm simply stirring the pot. :wink

As a "driver" (to have sex with), or to leave parked in the garage like EP (to look at, with clothes on!).?
