I finally got my painted standard wheels mounted on my Heritage. I'll shoot some photos with better lighting and background at some point, but in the meantime here's a few:

Very nice, Chris. Striking and tastefully coordinated at the same time. For me, the standard wheels are just aesthetically a much better choice for most GTs and your Heritage model w/ painted wheels only emphasizes the point. The whole rig looks great!!!!

The “lucky” horseshoes were on a number of the original Gulf GT40s. You will see them if you look close in some of the old period photographs. I saw them on John Gourley’s Heritage at the Detroit Rally and loved them.

Oh, and the yellow Dancing Moose I first saw on Cobrar’s (Rex’s) car also at the Detroit Rally. They are static cling and I put them on occasionally to kid around with the local F-car guys. They are not period authentic. First used by Volvo I believe.

car looks great!! The painted wheels really add to it. Also I think the horseshoes were on the right side of the car.

The wheels are just simply superb! :cheers
Any Heritage owners ever thought about painting the rocker panels under the doors?
I may be speaking taboo...but I can see a continuation of the orange flowing along the lower sides of the car. I think it would help tie in the wheels and also lower the visual appearance of the car.

Looking Good!!

Chris,
Very nice indeed.
LOOKING GOOD!!
I am in the process of doing the same to my Heritage.
Just got my new Standard Wheels last week and am in the process of geting them ready to get the Orange 'treatment'.

06fordgt,
Horse Shoes were on both sides of the 1968 winning car which was #9.

KJRGT,
See pic of my Heritage with Orange rockers & rear quarter panels, mine are done in vinyl so they can be replaced easily. They are good at protecting the car from road debree, rock chips, etc. [There are more pics in photo section]

Jasper,
I've been working for a change.
MAD IN NC is trying to keep me off the streets and doing more of the impossible.
We all still love you all down there in the 51st State.

Fred

P.S. Pully, Tune, & Exaust treatments done by the GT GUYS are just what the GT needed.
I Just Love This Thing!!
