Just received the utility tray and noticed it has two sided tape on the bottom; are most of you using this adhension???? I am afraid of paint peel if I decide to remove it in the future....any experiences with this impacting the integrity of the paint below??

I never used the tape and the tray has never slid at all. Great product!

I have had mine for some time, no tape and it works just fine. looks like it belongs there.

I dont use the tape, however, it does not stay in place when close to the limits of adhesion. I just pull it when at track.

Gentlemen,

This is a great product. I have used it for years and normally set my cell phone in it. When John first gave it to me I asked, "What is this?" He said, "It's a rubber tray that goes on the console of your GT". I used it for that at first but now I just put my phone in it.
