Who would you guys recommend for transportation from Riverside ,CA to Sarasota,FL?

Wil
First off, Welcome!
Secondly, Where in Sarasota are you located? we have a vacation home on Manasota key. Also, about a year ago me and my dad met with a man with an 2005 GT for sale in sarasota (red and white) . He also was big into boat racing, or at least had a very fast boat! That wasnt you perchance, was it?

Boat racing is my blood as well. Popeyes has set the standard for years, you should be very proud.
Years ago I own and ran an S class twin outboard and was mentored by none other than Rudy Raymos. He taught me a ton but mostly that I didn't have enough $ to do it "right". Then a few years later I went 1/4 mile racing, own and campaigned a comp hydro and then teamed up on the Madness Top Fuel Hydro. From there a very short stint in F-1 (boats), didn't have enough $ for any of that either. LOL! Thinking pontoon now and fishing poles.

Floor is a material I heard about from Chip Beck... very nice looking and very durable.

The cool floor stuff is from http://www.premiergarage.com/

Check out their website. My floor looks as good today as the day they put it in almost 5 years ago. Welcome to the Forum.

I live right off Anna Maria Island.

That was not me but many of the current boat racers live in this area.

Thanks for the welcome.

It is an expensive hobby for sure.

I am very lucky to drive for Stan Ware who is my partner. A little history here, Stan was Al Copeland's best friend, Al died a couple of years ago from cancer. Al was the founder of Popeyes and started racing with Stan in the 70's.

congrats on your new car and welcome,

as for the color on the walls pick something light, especially if you do any wrenching in the garage or will have a lift installed, the lighter color walls and floor will reflect light better and it will make it easier to see and work.....

Here are a couple of photos of the colors we picked.

The lift goes in next week and then hopefully I can find a yellow GT.

If anybody is selling I am buying.

Have you contacted Dr. Harms? He has a Yellow car and is in Florida (and occasionally on the board here). Rumor has it he would like to trade into an Audi.

I have contacted him but what I got was he is going to trade the GT and get tax credits. Whatever that means!

Thanks for the kind replies.

These cars are amazing!!

I think if you make your prearranged purchase through the dealer, They would be able to give him the tax credits he wants.

We get the tax credit up here too and I have brought my own buyer in at the time of the new purchase to get those credits myself.

Fast/race boats and Ford GT's, they seem to go together. I have a 38 Fountain, looking at a 44 MTI or a 36 Skater.
Of course in the MTI.

Boat racing is the Life! What is your boat/team name?

I have a 42 MTI , full canopy boat for sale. Just the hull. It is as if it just came out of the mold.

It can be rigged with four seats for Poker Runs.

There is a big difference between the 44 MTI and a 36 skater at speeds tho.

Currently looking at a few used boats including a 42 Fountain with 6's. After the 90mph of my 38 the next move will be fast enough for awhile. Most boats seem tame after the old 24 Skater with the 2.4's.
