I’m online shopping for one now! Brand new in Tennessee full kit. $39K.

Nice! New Ford GT Forum subcategory! It's fun. Did a mini day trip with the family. Comfortable cruiser. I like the firm and solid ride, no complaints from family. Nice shift points, more aggressive than retail product. It's been a big hit with everyone.

The sticker with 500A Equipment Group is right about there, so must be similarly equipped.

I have a buddy who has been driving x-copper units for decades. He recently purchased another black Yukon. It’s like “the parting of the Red Sea” whenever he heads on down the highway....hilarious.

There was this huge wave far behind me today on the 405 freeway. I removed the flags and stickers as I didn't want to be too conspicuous. I guess it's the spotlights and black steel wheels.

It is pretty funny, but completely unintentional. I wasn't trying to mess up anyone's commute. Then they inch up, and go back to normal as they determine it's safe to do so. I mean, I had my whole family in the SUV.

Always fun being a civilian in a cop vehicle. This was a company car I drove a lot (and autocrossed) about 40 years ago....

Thats awesome Randy and congrats.

I had an ex police crown victoria ltd as my first car for years after high school, loved that car and didnt want to sell it but when I got a chance to get my first fox body it was a no brainer it had to go. I have been on the search to find a clean police package 80's ford crownvic or even a chevy caprice but they are becoming extremely hard to find.. I hope you enjoy your new ride.

Centerpunch - love the photos! And autocross! That would be a hoot!

Soroush - yes, finding a clean one can take some time! But yeah, keep up the search!

Found a lot of neat gear as we started going over every inch of the car. Not a single dent either.

I found the previous owner, she wanted the cleanest possible car and looked at a lot. Her husband and her were going to start a private patrol company. Having been legal counsel for a security company, I know the PPO licensing has some hoops. Well, they never made it all the way through all the hoops and ended up barely using the vehicle, but it was the nicest they found by far. I also removed the standard issued fender flags and any other indications. Of course, it still has the spotlights and other tells, but is fully white, and without decals.

Anyway, today I was driving and my son says, "Dad, it's happening again." Sure enough, there was a really large gap between me and the next wave of cars. And I was traveling at a healthy but not unreasonable clip. It was if we had just completed a "round robin" - where the highway patrol swerves back and forth intentionally to slow traffic.

Oh, BTW, love the interceptor suspension and shift points. It's only the 3.7l engine, but it's no slouch with 305 hp and the shift points. And there is little body roll with the stiffer suspension, drives fairly controlled, and better than expected for an SUV.

Pulled the rear passenger door panels, found the cables to hook up the door handles and make them functional again, de-activated the child door safeties as well, added door plungers, and no longer have to let my passengers out, which was funny initially, but not really functional for daily life. And Ford kindly kept all the hardware available, just not readily accessible behind the panels. Also secured to avoid rattles.

Again, I am enjoying the police shift points, which I imagine are much more aggressive than the standard Explorer. Nice tight turning radius for an SUV which is also appreciated.

Pulls it's weight in the photo studio as well! With a little shot yesterday for fun.

And now I can create my very own LAW AND ORDER: Exhibition of Speed webcast series...

I've made the resolution as low as possible, just getting used to the new website and it's image parameters.54570

What a cool build, and I bet that was a blast to autocross.

I used to do a lot of my civilian motorcycle instruction on a BMW R1200C Cruiser complete with saddlebags and windscreen. A little unexpected going through the cones on a cruiser when most had sport, street, and dual-purpose rigs. Variety is the spice of life.
