I noticed at the BJ while giving the GT 500 the once over, nowhere does it say GT 500. Interesting.

As info ... the fact that the car does not display the 'GT500 'script / logo on the car was pointed out to Jim Farley at the unveiling dry-run for Ford Employees on the Sunday before industry week.
It does seem to be missing the nomenclature especially on the lower rocker panel stripes where it is typically broadcast.

The same thing was true of the GT350. The only emblem was in the front splitter. Lots of places made after market side rocker panel stripe kits.

If for some reason the base GT500 isn't enough, there are two upgrades available. The Handling package adds adjustable strut mounts for increased rigidity and a rear spoiler with a Gurney flap. To go all in, opt for the Carbon Fiber Track pack. It deletes the rear seat, bolts on 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels (widened in the back to 11.5 inches) with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber, and adds the carbon-fiber rear wing from the GT4 Mustang racing program. An upgraded front splitter extends up the sides of the wheelwells for increased downforce.
