I was hoping to have my NFGT for this event, Boo hoo....
There were about 50 cars and a little rain [emoji35]. There were some pretty capable cars, mostly Aston Martin but a few Porsche's (911's and GT4's).
The Mustang turned the 2nd best time behind an Aston Martin powered Lola. The track was washed down early on by a (let's build an Ark!) rain storm so there was no rubber on the track and large puddles at the Apexes. There is lots of room for improvement with more seat time.
I was truly amazed by the balance, power and superb handing. My G-meter showed 1.5 lateral g's ! It stuck like glue and allowed driving lines like no other sedan I've ever driven.
I did wear out my Pilot 2's in very short order. However, they got better as the day went on and are now 'slicks'.
I'm frothing at the mouth for the opportunity to do this in my GT.
If anyone is sitting on the fence about a 350R, get off and pull the trigger! It is a fantastic car and BETTER than the magazine reviews... if that's possible.
