I was hoping to have my NFGT for this event, Boo hoo....

There were about 50 cars and a little rain [emoji35]. There were some pretty capable cars, mostly Aston Martin but a few Porsche's (911's and GT4's).

The Mustang turned the 2nd best time behind an Aston Martin powered Lola. The track was washed down early on by a (let's build an Ark!) rain storm so there was no rubber on the track and large puddles at the Apexes. There is lots of room for improvement with more seat time.

I was truly amazed by the balance, power and superb handing. My G-meter showed 1.5 lateral g's ! It stuck like glue and allowed driving lines like no other sedan I've ever driven.

I did wear out my Pilot 2's in very short order. However, they got better as the day went on and are now 'slicks'.

I'm frothing at the mouth for the opportunity to do this in my GT.

If anyone is sitting on the fence about a 350R, get off and pull the trigger! It is a fantastic car and BETTER than the magazine reviews... if that's possible.

Great track. Was just there last Friday visiting a friend who was there with his Boss 302 S running with the BMW club.

Would have been great to been out there Saturday to see your GT350R :) . Still haven't been able to see one in person.

I think if you want to get really serious about tracking it, a roll bar, six point harness and a fire system would be appropriate. Going that fast without my Hans made me a little nervous! The Sport Pilot 2's are great but a set of Hoosier R-7's would be better and probably a lot cheaper too!

I think one could go under a minute at LRP which would be pretty damn remarkable in a street car!!

1.5 g in a street car is impressive. Do you happen to know which corner?

Also as an FYI, if you feel uncomfortable enough not wearing your Hans, I know of a manufacturer that was looking to protect their drivers when the vehicles only had 3 point belts. This tested best for them:

I don't know which corner. I would think it would have to be big bend or maybe the kink on the downhill? Frankly I was surprised by the number... that's a big number for any car. It happened late in the afternoon when the tires were effectively slicks. It came from an app... Track Addict... so I'm not certain how accurate it is... however it recorded the lap times identically to the track transponder.

Stupid me... I accidentally erased some of the data ☹️. I shot some track videos. They only saw the windshield wipers! When I erased them, the data went away too.

But here's a screen print of a slower lap. It makes the 1.5 number a little suspect.... this one shows 1.02 (which is more realistic I think). Maybe I dropped my phone! lol

Anyway, max G's were at the downhill and the uphill.

I highly recommend this app.. $8.99 on the App Store. It gives you all kinds of useful and interesting data. It does video as well.

Congratulations.

The low profile of the GT still amazes me.
