Anyone on here own this car? I am looking to lock into another car for a DD. thanks

I don't own one but I sure do like them

Put 70k miles on my 997 C2S, best daily driver I have ever owned. Heard good things about the gt3rs but the suspension tuning is a bit harsher, depends on your road conditions. Would not hesitate to jump into one if your dd road conditions allow.

Ive owned a 07 gt3 a 07 gt3rs and a 10 gt3rs. Best car to own if you already own a fgt...I would go for the rs as they are wider and better looking.
They also have light weight fly wheel, better gearing, more hp.

No problem as a dd, put on a simple bypass exhaust and youre done. Most visceral driving experience out there, backed up by very decent power, and sound.

I would look at a 07-08, in the 90k range, the 10 prices just re-surged and are higher than they were a year ago, 130k ish

Im currently looking for another...

I have my eye on a green 07 with very low miles around 2K for 120K...

I recently almost bought an 08 green with 15k one owner miles for 91k. If youre going to drive it, I would not be concerned with 5-10k miles, as they do better if theyre driven...
120k is too high. I bought my 07 for 105k with 2k miles 2 years ago.

If youre going to spend that kind of money, I would not hesitate to buy a 10-11 over a 07-08. They are that much better. I do like the funky .1 colors, I had an orange one.
But the performance of the .2 cars is crazy.

so the 10 or 11 are much better minus the color options?

For sure. And the .1 are awesome cars. The .2 is that much better. They are turbo fast with a n/a motor.
And the feel is what makes them special. Spend some time on rennlist.com there are many enthusiasts there...

That being said, I think the .1 at 85-90k is the best buy, because they will stay there...the .2 is going to come down, just not anytime soon...

I think a green RS would be a keeper, cause they're rare enough...

Is there something about the 997 RS that will allow it to hold value after the 991 RS release? Great cars in any case.

I think that while the 991 gt3 variant will be great, the 997 4.0rs was the last of the metzger engine and that's what makes it unique. There is talk of the 6sp mt going away, which will make for a boring ride.

Seems like guys that know the 997 RS are scrambling to pick up the clean ones that are out there.

Maybe it's just me, but a GT3 RS for a daily driver? Love the car, but a DD it isn't. That's like taking your Zonda for a road trip. Get a Turbo for a daily driver. Save the GT3 RS for the track. That dog wants to run...

Great ride maybe the best out there. But I love my 73 rs.I prefer it over the ride of my FGT. Don`t get me wrong, I love my FGT.

73RS? We need a new thread with pics!!!!!

I think the GT3 RS is a GREAT car! I truly enjoy it and in many ways (I know I'm going to catch some negative feedback for this!!!)it is a better car than the FGT. Let me clarify,
much easier car to get in and out of, much easier car to park, easier car to back up, not as many blind spots........... you know the important things!! Also it is a great car to take on the track!

You are right of course. The modern Porsche 911's is 'the supercar you can drive everyday'. There are many things in the 997's that are improvements over the FGT, but there is only one car like the FGT. Comparing it against anything else is immaterial. But the 997.2's are the way to go if you haven't purchased one yet. Improved handling and engine output versus the .1's. And I DO think that they can be DD's. Would work for me at least. I have replaced enough suspension bits in my 997.1 S so that it feels a lot like the RS and I'd drive it anywhere. And the engine on the RS, like all of the 997's is incredibly flexible. You wouldn't hurt it in daily driving. It's a bit noisy of course - much less sound insulation, thinner glass, many have a lexan rear glass. If I didn't have to give up my Cab to get one, I'd happily own one.
