Question, what do you do with a fast car in South Africa, I picked up four speeding tickets from photo cameras on my vacation
. :frown

Bony -- that is a problem there. Don't know what awaits me in the mail box upon my return. However, we did not run any plates on the car this trip! Will have them by Feb. Bony, there are lots of areas (R62) unfettered by radar cams - including about 6 superb mountain passes. I will reserve aggressive high speed stuff for the track there. I also have radar which picks up most of the photo/cams. Unfortunately the local govt. in Cape Town has jobbed out the speed monitoring to a private company with a profit motive - without that "State Job" mentality they are scoring big time.

Gordo-go-lighty! :wink

bigdan40, Speaking of SPF, I just saw an ad this past week for a "continuation" series to be done by them of the GT. It also mentions that they bought the rights to the use of the "GT40" name. The continuation will apparently be a run that follows that done originally by Safir Engineering. It also appears that the cars will be based upon the Wyer Gulf livery as Gordo's CAV, and in the Mk I bodystyle, vs. their previous Mk II bodystyles. John

John, You are right on both accounts. SPF took rights to the name x amount of time ago and they imported the first GT40 last fall. The car was/is at Snakepit Automotive in Long Island, NY who is the dealer I bought my SPF Cobra from. Like the Cobra it is imported as a turn key minus which means you have to install (or farm it out) the drive train and DOT items such as lights, wheels, etc. Of course they provide you with these items. I believe the roller is around 65k and could easily be out the door for under 100k especially if you are doing the install yourself. My Cobra was around 39k as a roller and I went with a Roush 427R and a Tremac 3550 true five speed tranny. End of the day I was in for about 62k for I did lots of upgrades/mods. I swear buy the product, my car is three seasons old and has been bulletproof. If you pm me your email I'll send you some photos...Dan

You don't want to know...

Dan, you don't even want to know. We're moving in the new year to accomodate the fleet. Under construction as I write. Plan for a mid-year 'Gordo's Garage' Grand Opening. Stay tuned! :cheers

I am throwing people out of my shop to make more room for the cars.
After keeping them heated for 1 winter you just can't go back. www.websterautomall.com
