Has anyone taken a seat out to shave the foam an inch to an inch and a half to give the driver more head room? Any other ideas on getting a taller guy more comfortable? I am 6-4" tall. Thanks

seat

I recently had Gennadi designs (gtx1.com) lower my seat bottom. They take out some padding and redo the leather cover. It looks completely stock to the eye, but it added some 2" of headroom, which now makes it quite ample for me as I am 6'4 - 6'5". Before doing it, my hair touched the roof and the top of the windshield was in my line of sight.

The seat bottom is firmer now since there is less stuffing, but overall still reasonably comfortable. I would definitely recommend them. It was expensive, but they did a very nice job.

I'd like to raise my seat 6" :rofl

my dad just pulls the seat all the way forward and adjusts the back so that it is all the way reclined and then puts the seat bottom as far back as possible and he seems to be fine..To me, he looks like hes got more room in the GT then our corvette or thunderbird

I've also had mine done by Gennadi. Beautiful work!

Rick, do you mind telling me about what I can expect to pay for it? Thanks, and where is Gennadi located in So. Cal? Chris

Chris, They are in Green Bay. The pricing for the different seat options are on the Gennadi GTX1 website. They are coming to the Rally II, maybe you can see and speak to them there.

..or go to a quality upholstry shop and have them replace the foam with memory foam and pick up and 1.5"

Latex / Visco memory foam is awesome! Pure latex is the best, but very expensive. You dont have to use a lot due to its density. Any high end upholstery shop could do it.

Yup, I have done it with several cars, but I fit in the FGT.
