One of the trades guys that comes by my shop swears he saw a new GT in Chicago today by Northwestern Hospital. Blue. Any guesses what he saw? I know he knows what an aventador looks like, as well as the 05-06 cars. Is there any chance one is here?

If he waits until the Chicago Auto Show next month he will get to see the white one. We always have a good group of GT Forum guys there.

I'm pretty sure he saw a Pontiac Fiero kit car! LOL Tell him to get a smart phone with a camera!

Oddly enough a few early pre-production cars have been spotted in the IL burbs in the past... Usually had to do with communications companies running tests. With that said, I'd be shocked if it was true in the city.

I can't wait to see it again this year in Chicago (especially in white). If the Illinois guys go again this year, I'd love to meet up with you all. Last year I almost made it, but couldn't due to a family emergency.

Pre-production prototypes travel to many places in the US other than just the Detroit area, in order to evaluate their various capabilities to withstand both environmental regulations and various other extremes. Death Valley summer testing comes to mind...

Some manufacturers bring their prototypes to the Sierra Nevada in winter for testing, and later, their production cars for advertising film.

I70 from Denver to Glenwood Springs for high altitude testing. Rocky Mountain Park Trail Ridge Road in the summer when the road is open. Both places get lots of new vehicles. When I shipped my GT to Vegas its bunkmates were two new Dodge test vehicles that I was not allowed to see before unloading mine.
