.....when I stopped for gas and I had to share it with the group. As usual a couple of guys amble over and are admiring the car and we are having a nice chat. Then one of the guys asks me, "Are those silver rings in the seats the speakers???" :eek

I managed to keep a straight face and said "No, they are mostly for decoration but they do vibrate."

One guy says "whoa" and the other says "cool" as they nodded their heads in approval. As I drove away enjoying my "vibrating" seat rings I was convinced more than ever how lucky I am to have this car and how much more fun it is than anything I have ever owned. :cheers
 
They were originally provided on the race cars for breathing/cooling purposes. During a 24hr race, one could imagine a fairly damp seat from perspiration.

On the GT, I understand that the engineers originally were thinking to include ducting to the seats/grommets. but they discarded that idea when they noticed it impaired downforce and tope-end.
 
And I thought the guy who asked me if 1079 was a "kit car" took the cake...:frown
 
Mine vibrate........at about 155 :biggrin
 
I have had people ask if they were speakers several times. I want to say, yes, my ford get has 40 + speakers. Duh!

Actually, my rings are still in the box......been to busy to install.

Went for a short therapy run today. Temp was 30. Never broke 80mph and its obvious some of the FGT systems prefer heat over cold.

Had a distinct vibration at 75, no matter what gear. Ice cold tires? I plan to run the same route again on a 70 degree day and see what appears. Did not have the vibration before today.

Glad this has happened to others. It was funny. Heater seats...yeah that makes sense.....vibrating massage seats....maybe I can see it.....but speaker seats.....:lol

I mean being accused of talking out of your a$$ is one thing, but I fail to see the benefit of having music come out from down there.

People ask that all the time about the hood on the older Vipers. Yes, I have two large speakers outside on the car to entertain you!
 
I got asked a few times if the air cleaner on my Pantera was a record player!

I was in traffic next to a guy driving a corvette convertible (the pace car edition - yellow/purple)...he was with this blonde and waves to me to roll down my window. He says "nice job! thats the best looking kit car i've seen!" I said, "its a Ford GT" and he responds "yeah but its still a mustang frame"...at that point i shook my head and rolled up my window. Then once on open road I burned him...:biggrin

In retrospect this guy was clearly having a midlife crisis and trying to impress the chick at my expense...i mean who drives a purple and yellow C5 and doesnt know the GT!

tiny Suction cups

I told someone when I drive at SPEEDS over 150....with the windows down,the tiny ass suction cups keeps me from being sucked out the window!!
The bad part is it leaves red marks on my ASS....LOL
 
I always thought they were for hemorrhoids!

That moron probably doesnt know any more about is own Vette than he does your FGT. Very funny story though.
