He is a young 85!! Shelby was 43 in 1966, so they would need to find someone that looks that age. Will Ferrell is 46!!

I didn't see Reacher. Was TC convincing as 6'5" Jack Reacher? :)

not even close....... After reading the whole series and seeing the movie - just couldn't grasp TC

Ya but Cruise sells movies - and they want to sell a ton of this movie.

I agree with this. Love/like him or hate him, he gets people into the theaters. And if people come to see this movie in droves, then maybe those of you with investment grade GT's (is that EVERYONE these days?) will see a bigger increase on your investment. If not, it'll just make that many more people on the streets look on with (slightly more knowledgeable) ecstasy as they see Henry's pride and joy rolling by.

I've always generally liked him, but Tom Cruise was a big movie star. He is not anymore. Excluding Mission Impossible, you have to go back to 2005 to find a legit hit movie he was the lead in. His bug budget tentpole this year grossed $89 million domestically, which was nowhere near it's production budget let alone the associated distribution/marketing costs, and puts it at #42 for the last year. Not exactly burning up the theaters. He was a big movie star when his movies were grossing double that in nominal dollars 20+ years ago.

Dempsey gets my vote, just need to lower his voice and put a drawl in it. Tomy Hamon would be good as tutor. He has it down pat.

Good call, Doc! PD would be great and around the same age. Him being a car guy is just icing on the cake.

Dempsey would get my vote, since I have a good feeling he "gets it" with relation to the story

talking to a producer buddy from LA, yesterday and he says that Brad Pitt is also now tied to the movie being done by 20C Fox.

I chatted with A.J. Baime at the N.Y. auto show yesterday and it's still not a done deal with the movie (GO LIKE HELL). Probably won't happen for a while, probably 2015-plus. He has a new book coming out soon, about the U.S. industrial (auto industry, etc.) support of allied WW II efforts.
