I finally took my beautiful canvas rally art by Camilo to my friend Mike to get it stretched on a stretcher bar (i.e. essentially wrapped onto a wood frame). Just got it back and I think it looks fantastic.
I just mounted it on the wall as is, with a pair of nails. I don't think it needs a frame, as the white canvas edge looks great.
Mike's framing shop is located in El Monte, California. They've been in business for 30 years.
I thought some forum members might be interested in having their canvas wrapped. Mike contracts the work out to a reputable and experienced "wrapper" (not to be confused with rapper, which is a different skill set).
If you're local So Cal, you can ship it directly to Mike and he will have it wrapped and mounted as shown, for just $35, which I think is his cost or near it (but I have no idea, seems very reasonable to me). Then, if you're local to So Cal, you can pick it up during business hours, 7 days a week at my I-5 Self Storage facility located in Tustin, CA. Mike and I see each other about every few weeks, so it's no problem for me to pick them up from his shop.
If you're not local, Mike will pack, ship and insure, for a flat rate of $25 inside the United States. (Clarify valuation limit with Mike, might cost extra)
So, $35 locally, or $60 shipped and delivered. Hope this isn't against Forum posting guidelines, not trying to sell stuff here, just offer a quick and easy solution to get artwork up. I have zero financial interest at all in this.
sales@laframe.com is Mike's contact email.
