Some of you may recall that a rep from Gale Banks Engineering recently posted on here requesting some routine service work for Gale's GT. After a brief discussion, we decided that it would be easiest for everyone if "we" did the service at Bank's HQ as it's not too far from us. Ryan headed over there mid morning last Friday and then I showed up at about the right time - just as he was finishing! Gale's red car is absolutely pristine with a whopping 1700 miles or so on the clock. I had met Gale some 25 years ago and it was a real pleasure to see him again. Gale offered us a "nickle tour" of the facility and showed us some of the things he was up to. Throughout the next 1.5 hours, we were absolutely amazed. From fabrication work through detailed printed circuit board design is done right on the premises. Extremely impressive. And Bony would have been proud too. Gale's doing a lot of things for the armed forces - from improving the performance and fuel mileage of the very latest Humvees to the ultra-reliable and maximum performance requirements of one of Seal Team 6's stealth go-fast boats with twin diesels and the capability to get deployed out of the ass end of a C130.
I really enjoyed our brief time there and I have even a higher opinion of what Gale has done for the automotive world and how he is helping our armed forces to be better equipped to perform their very dangerous jobs. I've informed Gale of the upcoming Rally and I hope that we will see him at this or similar venues if he schedule permits it. As I said before, I'm now waiting on the call from Tiger so we can provide some help to his golf game!
