French cosmetics.

Because I am a very low mileage driver with my Ford GT, I save the money of the fuel, what allows me to finance some cosmetic for her.

Some pictures of what I did, taken before she returns under his duvet :

IMG_0075.jpg

1 / Wheels .

I installed magnificent HRE Wheels, 19 front and 20 rear. The tires are Michelin Pilot with a «*home made decoration*».
This is completely the opposite of the black wheels fashion, not by bias but by personal taste.
I did not imagined that the effect would be as strong and that I would be so much happy with the result.
I painted the hubs in the same bright grey as the brake calipers. This is the kind of detail that no one notices, but which delights me. Incidentally I signed the Brembo calipers in white letters.

2 / Le Mans fuel cap.

I very much regret that Camilo Pardo did not equipped the Ford GT, with the beautiful " Le Mans fuel cap*», which was on the GT40 (and the Cobra).
The idea to offer this gem to my beautiful GT itched so much that I went into action.
This little gloss enhances her body, producing the same effect than a fine pearl on the satin of a woman’s skin .
I do not regret the original system with its very fragile tabs, one of which partly obstructing the line and forced me to fill the tank drop by drop .
For the record, the connecting piece with the body, «*home designed*» and without visible fixing, was made of the same aluminum as the cap and machined by a high precision machine.

3 / Remove the bumper.

In general, this suppression shows a black surface grid, in my opinion too much important and destroying the appearance of the car. So far, this had made me give up.
Subsequently, I discovered that the U.S. Company " GT Guys " offered a kit where part of the grid is replaced by a metal piece, painted in the color of the car. I liked the aesthetics, but not so much, the $ 4500 cost of the kit before transport to France, and customs taxes.
Based on this excellent example, it is again a «*home made solution*» that I implemented.
What a joy to contemplate these sublime buttocks curves.

Not for show but for pedagogy. It is ultimately one of the objectives of our Club.

- 5 / Accufab throttle Body.

I detested the original and sad cast aluminum piece. I replaced it by a Accufab production, beautifully polished .

It is a part of the "goodies" that the participants of the FORD GT DAYS will receive.

Looks great, would you mind elaborating on the wheels, IE offsets, width and the tire size?

If I recall correctly, those are the wheels on Shelby's blue car.

Could you send me a drawing of the gas cap adapter and where you found the cap? I can make my own parts. Thanks.

2 / Le Mans fuel cap....

While I very much appreciate your changes, the gas cap that you installed is not quite the same as the ones used on the GT40s of the '60s, but is very similar to that used on the Shelby Cobras. The GT40 caps were flat on top, as seen in the two pictures below:

Whereas the Cobra Gas Caps were rounded over the top, such as:

You might be able to find the flat version by contacting Superformance - http://www.superformance.com/ - which I believe puts the flat version on their GT40 continuation cars.

Many thanks for the compliments.

@ SPECRACER.
The tires are Michelin Pilot Super Cup.
345 / 30 / 20 rear and 245 / 35 / 19 front.
For the IE offsets I dont know. You may ask ShelbyElite, who used the same wheels and tires.

@ BEACH-GT.
The «*Le Mans Fuel Cap*» is from Finish lines.
I really wanted a cap with a closed inner key, and oddly, it's the only one I've found with this equipment, however, essential.
Please send me your address to the Club mail (european.ford.gt.owners.club@gmail.com). I will send you by post the sketch of the adapter we made.

@ RALPHIE.

Thank you for your photos.
The goal was definitely not make a recovery.
Just offer a jewel to my GT, taking care not to be a misinterpretation or displaced thing.
In addition, i love the roundness and brilliance of the round cap (Cobra type) and neither the form nor the material of the flat cap of the GT40.

Best Regards to all.

Looks nice. I talked with Ben at wheels boutique 2 years ago at SEMA about those wheels . They had them on his Lamborghini . I have HRE's now and love them. I wanted them but spent the money on a whipple instead. More tire options going that size. I can only buy one brand at $700 a tire. Looks great.

Good morning SR71.

I drew this decal myself and I printed a few copies for me.
If you want one or two (for each side), I'd be happy to offer them to you and send them to you.
In this case, send me your address to the mail of the European Club, which is : european.ford.gt.owners.club@gmail.com

Best Regards.

PM sent. I notice you appear to have side marker lights, and what I assume are headlight washers?

Are these fuel caps a possible cure for the fuel flapper problem?
