Ford Racing Pulley and Tune not working

I had the same issue with my ProCal and finally went with Torrie's tune. I had issues with the ProCal for my son's 2013 GT too. I'm glad Ford has an active performance parts division, but they really need to get on the ball and fix these issues. Considering the success of the aftermarket tuners, I really don't understand why they are having these issues. Everyone can tune Fords except Ford?

I am DEFINITELY a pro-Torrie advocate and prefer and highly recommend his tunes and expertise. And not that you would ever need it - because his stuff WORKS, Torrie is infinitely accessible and always willing to help.

So, Kendall, why are you using Ford Racing Pulley/Tune kits? Yeah, good question, as this may be the LAST time given this experience. But, the reason that we have gone this route is NOT because of the software - which Torrie is infinitely better at, but the completeness of the package. The Ford Racing kit comes with a high-quality pulley, the power steering pump spacers, new SC fluid, sealant, explicit CARB EO approval, and a tune. It is a complete, single-source package. There are other sources for the pulley - and perhaps too many people making these and, as such, we have some bad experiences on more than one occasion. Tolerances and the taper designed for repeatable correct installation are important and the pulleys in the FRPP kit have been extremely consistent and top quality.

You could always merge it and use their hardware and an SCT device with my tunes.

Kendall,

I tell everyone to buy the Ford kit for the pulley and other items you mentioned, and then get a tune from Torrie. Not the cheapest way to go by any means, but you get parts that work.

I have the Ford pulley/tune, installed very easily with no issues. What is the cost for another (Torrie) tune and what are the performance deltas?

I'd be surprised if anyone has done more of the Ford Racing kit tunes in GTs than us. The issue is that Ford keeps mucking with the firmware in the ProCal units and they either don't have or don't use a Ford GT ecu to do validation testing.

Torrie is very reasonable on the cost of his tunes but the issue is that you also have to buy an SCT device.
