In my first ride ever in a Cobra I got the official Cobra "Tatoo" on my achilles from the side pipe as I stepped out of the car. .

Were you "Gurneyed" the 1st time you got in/out of your GT as well? :lol :cheers

Thanks for summmarizing my current situation in Canada , it really sucks as certain dreams have to be put on hold due to non-car people or just plain ignorant people in the goverment that dont take the time to investigate and understand exactly what they are making rules for

The most painful part about the whole process is the cost , for example you can buy a really good SPF cobra in the US for around 45000 to 50000 and in Canada there are a few that got in through the borders ( not sure how ) and the guys who are selling them are asking anywhere from 70000 to 115000 and these are not even new cars , they are at least 5 years old in most cases

I also, own both a Cobra (replica) and a GT and agree with all the comments comparing the two cars. I purchased my Contemporary 427 car back in 1986 and have only driven it 5000 miles, since first putting it on the road in 1989. What I have found as I get older, is I dislike the Cobra more each year and I can only comfortably drive the car for about 100 miles (max) before needing to get out. Although Cobra's are some of the best Garage Candy, mine will be finding a new home within the next few years.

Just my 2 cents

Rob,
There is a 1965 SPF with hardtop at a dealer in Oakville, ON and they want $67.9kCDN (they say it is a SPF). If you have a US address that you could license, register and insure it there then as long as you have a valid US drivers license you should be able to driver it back to Canada. I might have a line on a CSX4000 that is in Canada. Was offered it but said that I was not interested, so no price on it. Just emailed the guy to ask the price.

The cars most likely were bought in Canada though a SPE distributor or they did a bait-and-switch.
