Hey guys...lots of fantastic posts here. So thanks.

We had a successful "bash" at my house with about 35+ people, of which there were at least 6 GT owners and 2 which are in the buying process (one flew in from San Diego) and let's just say that the TV's were cranked and the energy was 'high'! Couple comments re: other posts...

1. The Ford GT continues to amaze me every time I sit in it and take it out. And it amazed us all during the taping of this battle. We were all astonished at how badly it beat the Gallardo. To the point where I was asked continually "what I did to the car". And you guys have it right...it only has a Pulley & Tune, Stillen XPipe and yes, we were running Hoosier's. I have no idea exactly the HP because I've never dyno'd it. Nor did I do the pulley/tune. It was on there when I purchased the car.

2. I felt sorry for the guys that are in the process of finding and buying the right GT which were at the party. First...it would make the search that much more pressing. And second...we were joking around that the prices will now climb for all Ford GT's! =)

3. Viewing the show. There will be several options. They do not have links on SPEED as of yet - but will. You can also purchase the digital version at iTunes for 99 cents! Well worth the entertainment value when you East Coast guys' GT's are sitting in the garage while there is a foot of snow on the ground! =)

4. BRING ON RALLY V!!! CAN'T WAIT. See you all there.

After reading the posts here, I was especially primed to come home and watch the show.:pop

Apparently this episode was released with the same title as a previous episode with a GT500. Therefore my %^&*ing DVR did not record it because it thought it had already. NOOOOO!

:mad

i noticed that about 5 minutes before the show started that the speed channel ran a commercial for battle of the supercars that said stay tuned for the Lambo versus "Viper" next......:willy

I watched the 2nd showing at 10:00 pm. Too many commercials - fell asleep 20 minutes into the show :bored, so missed the Lambo engine destruction. IMO, too much "acting" by the performers and announcer - didn't seem to relate to the test of one car versus another...:thumbsdow

Love the look of the car when the lambo is following it...the GT look low, mean, sleek. I wonder what they're saying on the lambo boards about the whoopin

The Lambo forums are a bit sheepish: On post says "the GT made them look bad"

I remember this owner blog who warns against prolonged red-lining as the engine will detonate -- not sure if that car was Turbo'd; they are also know for their timing chains hoping if not replaced in correct intervals

Yup, all is not well in LamboLand:

" Was watching Super Cars Ex. lastnight on Speed Gallardo vs Ford gt And the Gt was killing the Gallardo. Then In the top speed race the Gallardo Blew up. Oil & water every were. Didn't look good. Hope they do a rematch."

Be careful what you ask for-

It was funny how the commentators kept referring to the lambo as such eye candy , the best looking car on the road , carbon fibre hood , etc. ,etc. they never mentioned the jaw dropping looks of the sinister all mighty FORD GT

I guess they had to make the lambo feel like it had some reason to be there , it certainly wasnt there to compete or if it was I dont remember seeing it in many shots

My favourite part was without a doubt when the lambo thought he had the GT on the 60-130 mph run and then the GT passed the lambo like it was parked , the look on Paul Tarcys face was priceless , for a guy who is usually mouthing off he was sure quiet in this episode

Bring on the Murci , as I just finished watching a u-tube video of the GT against the Murci and once again the GT blue the doors off the lambo

Check in the owners section for more detailed pics. Particularly the one of Tanner holding a piece of the block with a Bull extruding from it. I'm guessing the engine threw a piston against the passenger side of the block...hence the hole and parts laying in a line for several feet.

I'm watching it now. I've been watching this show for a while. I've always wondered about how they get familiar with the cars. Do they get time with the car before the "filming" to familiarize themselves with the cars? Or are they just thrown into them cold?

I have broken a few engines. It is amazing how, if you get out of it the second you hear something, you can prevent total catastrophic damage. You know, like if you hear a rod bearing spin and you shut it down before the bearing seizes and you punch a rod out the side of the block.

But then again, that was with engines I bought and paid for. When rented or stolen, you can just stay in until it goes Kaboom.

just sayin.:bored

Two thoughts. They gushed about the Lambos looks because they felt sorry for it. What could they say positive about the performance? Second, I'd like to see Battle of the (Ultimate) Supercars. GT twin turbo with extras vs $1m+ Bugatti Veyron. As I recall we have persons with both on this site.

Shelby would love what the show would do for the Veyron's resale value! :lol

The Gallardo is actually a really fun car to drive. It's just slow compared to a Ford GT, and it's REALLY slow compared to a pulley/tune Ford GT. I don't care how much reasonable weight you take out of it, you aren't making a Gallardo run 10's at 130-135. The newer Gallardos with better e-gear are a blast, they have a ton of grip and they make a fantastic racket. But you could definitely tell they were trying their best to say something positive about the G.

I think they try to say something positive about each car, as indeed someone was kind enough to let them play with it.
I enjoy watching the head to head races, however I prefer to skip their silly banter and keep it on mute !
Would be fun to see a TT Audi R8 on the show, or the GT race (and beat) something a little more powerful.

Thanks to Shane & family for hosting a great viewing party! There were two things that elicited big cheers from the group - each time the GT bested the Lambo, and each time Joyride was mentioned or shown on screen. And there were plenty of both! :thumbsup

Having watched all of the previous BOTS episodes at least twice, my impression was that this was the best edited show to date - perhaps because of the extra attention needed to make up for the lack of road course footage. Team Jeff had told me of the Lambo's demise when it happened, and so that led to a lot of speculation as to how the show would present the final version.

There's a lot more interesting stuff that Shane and Jeff can tell you about the week's events shooting the two episodes (the Bentley Supersports vs Aston Martin DBS episode was shot simultaneously). But those are their stories to tell, best told in person - like at the Rally. Plus Jeff took a ton of great photos - many more than those already posted in thread in the Owner's Section.

Thanks to Shane, Jeff, and Joyride for making this happen!!

I love the looks of Lambos especially the Murci's but that said... your black GT humbled that Gallardo in performance and looks! You know the person who added that part to the script was chuckling inside knowing that GT was way sexier in addition to putting the smack down on the poor car lol. That was the epitome of a route!
