Thanks Atomic. I can't take credit as this is the brainchild of Ron Gates. My Hawaii "F Enzo" plates are already on order.

Thanks Saleen

I had a real blast. The Autocross was fun. Hadn't done that for forty years.

Next one you do, make sure we can get out of 1st gear, for a moment or two, anyway.

Your GT owners specials showed us how much class you guys really have.

And your photo's are really good. The GT perm-a-grin lives!

Yeah, second gear would've been nice. It's too bad the track speed limit is about 65. I believe we were even considering holding a track day at Willow Springs. Maybe next year.

Thanks for coming out.

Didn't see these license plates at the rally, but you know the following license plate would also be most acceptable.

I guess one way of reading this is

"Ferrari Owners Love Enzo"

but I believe I meant the other way to read it from a GT owner's perspective, in a more graphical sort of way? :banana

The real question would be, what would we all be saying today, if someone crashed their FGT and wound up in the hospital... sorry to be a wet blanket.
Going on the track is fine,... ass-u-ming you have a current competition license. Running an open track event is complicated.

Bony, I agree having DBK arrange a open track is a complicated issue for many reasons. How would you feel if a 3rd party, not associated with the Forum, happened to be having a open track nearby the Rally during one of the days with free time ? It would not be sanctioned by the Rally, but members would be free to sign up with the company running the open track on there own. Of course this doesn't stop how bad we would all feel if someone was injuried from the event.

At the last VOI a passenger instructor lost a portion of his foot when an attendee lost control of his Viper and put it into the wall. An event can go from "great" to "nightmare" in a hurry in that situation. This autoX was a good way to start people off. If you were there for the torrents of burnt clutch smoke at El Toro, it was clear the experience level wasn't peak :lol

Agreed ... next time maybe we can follow it by a clinic on how fast the GT guys can change a GT clutch to a stillen one.

I think a bit bigger course would have been cool .. but had fun anyway. BTW when are they going to post the results ... I checked this morning and they were not up yet.

thanks again for a great job...

Yep. Rich had me bring out an extra clutch just in case, and when I said "you really think someone will need it?" I had no idea how right they were :rofl

I wanted them to do a bigger course but they said the side roads that crossed from one runway to the other were torn to shreds and gravel-filled. The small one ended up fine anyways for a starter event. We've already got bigger things in the works for 08 :wink

Results should be up soon. The guy told me it'd be 3-4 days...
