I am in palm springs eatting breakfast. Expect to hit the hotel by 3pm. How much do you charge for a wash? :)

Well for you ... just a couple of rounds. :lol I talked to the hotel yesterday ... they have a hose for us to use and I picked up a bucket, sponge and Mcg. Gold car wash .... just in case someone wanted to knock the dust of his girl.

I also have my always present mini-detail kit for anyone falling short. :bored

how about everyone meet at the bar at 6pm?

Arizona is frickin hot!!! The trip was great driving at night with a full moon. :thumbsup it was awesome .... driving through Texas was the slowest part. 65 at night with COPS everywhere. NM was 75 ... meaning 85 was an easy cruise. Had one small problem with a semi-cutting me off ... small rock chips in the front windshield now :ack Thank God for glass replacement insurance.
Arizona on 40 was a cruise ... driving down 17 there was a nasty speed trap (hiding in the grass... standing in the weeds shooting LASER) But the force was with us and the did not get the 65 car!

The car was the first in the hotel ... did the 1284 miles in about 15 hours. Got some sleep and gave her a bath this morning. Nice red w/stripe cannuck sitting next to her this am.

Where's everyone else? The beer is cold and so is the pool.

S

You are doing fine

As for the red gal that you found sitting outside this am from Canada; it is my understanding that they were cleaning her up before getting back on the road and during the process found the rear window to have a crack from side to side; descibed as a smile but it certainly made them sad.

??? seat came in contact with it ??? I remember when Kendall aka CoolTech presented the fix for this very issue many months ago

Takes care

Steve,

I was at the hotel yesterday and I ran into Terry and his son from Canada out by the pool. He owns the red GT down in the parking lot next to yours. Terry took his son and headed down to Davis Monthon Air Force Base to view the boneyard and museum just south of Tucson today. Please PM me with your cell phone number so I can get in touch with you, my cell phone number is 602-430-4877. Andy from Michigan has his blue white striped GT at my home as he has taken his wife and daughter up to the Grand Canyon for a day. The GT guys have wrapped up their work here in Scottsdale and headed out to Newport Beach. Bony, if you would like to have your car washed or detailed at the hotel you can contact Marty at 480-650-5178, he runs a mobile detailing service. Everybody else, for those who would like to see it, on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. I will be leading a GT convoy from the hotel up to Roger Penske's Race Car Museum 10 miles north of the hotel. I wanted to do the museum tour later but they close at 4 p.m. and would not budge off of their $5,000 fee to keep it open an hour and a half later for us. Leaving the hotel at 2:30 will get us there at 2:45 so you'll have an hour and 15 minutes to view his spectacular collection. When the museum closes at four we will convoy back down to the hotel where Bony will lead us in prayer and song at the bar in preparation for our 6:30 p.m. departure from the hotel for our dinner at the El Chorro Lodge. I am running like a madman trying to get everything done at my business before our departure Wednesday morning. I'll stop by the hotel tonight at about 8:30 p.m. as that is the soonest I will be able to get there. Again, my cell is 602-430-4877, call me if you need anything.

Chip

P. S. Arizona is friggin' hot. But the great thing about living here, is that if you do screw your whole life up and end up going to hell, there's only about a 3° difference! You're acclimating Bro!!!:thumbsup :thumbsup :cheers

GToy,
The address is:

3176 Airway Avenue
Costa Mesa, California 92626

This is Stillen's shop. There is a fenced in lot in the back. The facility is on the back side of John Wayne Airport just to the north of the hotel. I will post a map in a sec...

I'm dying here! You guys have a blast and post lots of pics and comments. Not going is a sign of how much I love my son, as I promised him I'd go to Boston with him tomorrow through Saturday. (I took his sister to Indy) What can I say he is a golfer not a car guy... :(

Believe me when I say he is well aware of the sacrifice I'm making by not going to Socal...

Tom,

Still working out the details. Work is getting in the way. Best bet would be to meet you just south of 280 on 101 Wed. morning. Worst case we leave after work Wed. and get down to LA after midnight to miss the traffic. I will keep you posted.

New Santa Monica meeting place

Woboose, et. al,

Is there a mtg place & time (estimated) for Santa Monica?

AlohaGT and I will be leaving my pace in Valencia and it would be grat if we could meet a larger group of you in Santa Monica. Perhaps the Fresno Southbound guys can meet at my place (a few hundred yards off of I-5) or minimally at a location in Santa Monica. Let me know.

Here's the spot:

Chez Jay's
1657 Ocean Ave
Santa Monica, CA 90401
(310) 395-1741

Oldest tavern in Santa Monica.

It's across the street from the Santa Monica Pier and about 500 feet south. It has it's own adjacent parking lot.

Get there 1:30ish, look to take off no later than 2:00.

PM me to swap cell #'s for updates on caravans progress.

PCH drivers dwindling

Ok, we're off in 1 day with smaller & smaller numbers for the PCH cruise. Let's see - twisty 2 lane right next to the ocean with 75 degree sunshine vs 4-6 lane freeway straight through the arm pit of the state in 100 deg + heat with all the truckers. I would bet the GT shines on the curves & low temps. C ya!

Ed

If you didn't scrub a little on the outside of your tires you must've taken the meow route.

Just in case anyone missed the e-mail a few weeks ago, here is a quick reminder of where you can leave your trailer:

3176 Airway Ave
Costa Mesa, CA

Stillen has graciously agreed to move around stuff in their fenced lot backing to John Wayne Airport and hold them there. I believe we have less than a dozen. I would unload your GT there, unhook the trailer and drop it at the Stillen, and then bring your tow vehicle with you to the hotel. This way Stillen can maximize space.

We made it into Scottsdale last night.

The Adventure Continues:
Rain Storms
Dust Storms
Road Alligator Strike [no damage that I can tell]
Time warp [according to Mrs. Spirit - because the time changed back a couple of hours - says if we keep going west we will get younger!!]:bang

And who says the Ford GT's don't have "cruise control"?
6th gear @ 2,100 rpm = 90mph. Runs great and travels fast.

No Tickets = YEA!!!

Washed the machine this am & ready for more windshield time.

I just love this thing.:thumbsup

See All Soon
:cheers
